I just don’t enjoy watching him. I don’t think he’s very good at anything. He had one streak of form in two full seasons with us. It lasted 9 games and in those games he didn’t always play great but contributed with goals. There’s nothing about his time that makes me think he can step up and be our main striker. I’d love him to be that player but I have zero confidence that he is capable. I think its commendable that he’s came out and wants to fight for his place but I don’t think he’s trusted or rated enough by the manager.More to the point; I don't know why after last season (or his time at Everton/Watford) you think Rich can't score or contribute other than from the bench.
He's not my dream player (never was); but it makes no sense why people here feel compelled to deny him his fair dues.
He works hard and chases lost causes. He’s unpredictable. He’s good in the air. That’s all I haveI just don’t enjoy watching him. I don’t think he’s very good at anything. Out of interest what do you think he offers the team?
But we don’t play that way so he could be Cyril Regis in the air. I’ll give you the he chases lost causes attribute. He works hard and chases lost causes. He’s unpredictable. He’s good in the air. That’s all I have
His work rate is good and if you looked at his play for Brazil you would say there's potential there for more. He fits with Postecoglou's pressing system. I think his priority is international play and I think the most likely outcome is results that are similar to what he did with Everton.I just don’t enjoy watching him. Stop giving advice because trust me, nobody is going to take a blind bit of notice of you.
Of course he can contribute from LW- and probably even from RW in a pinch too- that's part of the magic of Richarlison- among many things, of course...More to the point; I don't know why after last season (or his time at Everton/Watford) you think Rich can't score or contribute other than from the bench.

I actually liked some of Richarlison on the wing. Don’t see why he has to only play striker for us. Richy-Solanke-Kulusevski is a viable front 3 when Son is out of form or injured.
So it’s not all doom and gloom for him even if we do buy Solanke, he can play multiple positions.
Gun to my head, I'd probably take the money for Richarlison and run.
Then again, a lot of us critique players for being money-hungry and taking the obscene paycheques offered in places like Saudi and China (especially Brazilian players in the past doing so with big, poor families in mind); Richarlison bucking that trend and wanting to stay should be commended.
Perhaps it's also not the worst summer for him to dig his heels in - the striker market is a bit crap, and I doubt we'd end up spending the money particularly effectively. As long as we bring in someone like Solanke on top of what we already have, I won't complain too much about that particular position.
Yeah that’s seems to always be the issue others teams have strength in depth in that area two decent strikers and both seem happy but us we’ve adequate cover midfield/defence but up top we always lack in a decent back up striker…..but if this transfer comes off and Richarlison is happy to stay then then i‘m with thatI'm glad he's staying but he's probably gone next season. It's hard to have two strikers like that and to keep them both happy.
Who else are we signing to dovetail with Solanke? Hopefully not some relegation fodder from the bottom 4 of the PL….. Bamford maybe? It’s been so long since we’ve had two proper starting 11 strikers, and it baffles me that some fans want to return to our gone years of vulnerability in only having one quality striker.
