Player Richarlison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

More to the point; I don't know why after last season (or his time at Everton/Watford) you think Rich can't score or contribute other than from the bench.

He's not my dream player (never was); but it makes no sense why people here feel compelled to deny him his fair dues.
I just don’t enjoy watching him. I don’t think he’s very good at anything. He had one streak of form in two full seasons with us. It lasted 9 games and in those games he didn’t always play great but contributed with goals. There’s nothing about his time that makes me think he can step up and be our main striker. I’d love him to be that player but I have zero confidence that he is capable. I think its commendable that he’s came out and wants to fight for his place but I don’t think he’s trusted or rated enough by the manager.
Out of interest what do you think he offers the team?

He works hard and chases lost causes. He’s unpredictable. He’s good in the air. That’s all I have

His work rate is good and if you looked at his play for Brazil you would say there's potential there for more. He fits with Postecoglou's pressing system. I think his priority is international play and I think the most likely outcome is results that are similar to what he did with Everton.

TonySoprano TonySoprano - Don't be a man-baby.... Get help.
Stop giving advice because trust me, nobody is going to take a blind bit of notice of you.

Now we’re stuck with this wanker for another wasted season, get ready for more disagrees every time you pipe up with more spurious bollocks about his worth.

And it’s man-child btw.

Club is in a pickle here. His injury needs to be carefully managed. He simply can't play the schedule required; and we don't want a 60m asset sat endlessly on the bench.

If we play him and he works his socks off, the injury gets worse and his resale value plummets.

BUT BUT we need the Saudi fee to fund our hotel development project!!! Why don’t you get it Richy?!?

🤣🤣

Not sure he’s good enuf / will stay fit enuf - But fair play to the lad for not selling out for the money. Hope he stays healthy and is at his best this season …

Of course he can contribute from LW- and probably even from RW in a pinch too- that's part of the magic of Richarlison- among many things, of course...

I actually liked some of Richarlison on the wing. Don’t see why he has to only play striker for us. Richy-Solanke-Kulusevski is a viable front 3 when Son is out of form or injured.

So it’s not all doom and gloom for him even if we do buy Solanke, he can play multiple positions.

FUCK NO!!!!

This is absolute fucking garbage frontline.
Did you watch like ANY Angeball last season. Even once ???

We need WINGERS TO CREATE ROOM AND TAKE ON PLAYERS.
And you seriously suggest to play with winger pairing of Richie and Kulusevski ?!?!?!

Watching Angeball with such frontline is a torture method, not way to spend a nice weekend...
I love Kulusevski and despite preferring to see Richie moved on (for clubs sake), I don't hate him as player either - he is good at shithousery, intense lad and presses very well. But neither of them are Angeball wingers.

Gun to my head, I'd probably take the money for Richarlison and run.

Then again, a lot of us critique players for being money-hungry and taking the obscene paycheques offered in places like Saudi and China (especially Brazilian players in the past doing so with big, poor families in mind); Richarlison bucking that trend and wanting to stay should be commended.

Perhaps it's also not the worst summer for him to dig his heels in - the striker market is a bit crap, and I doubt we'd end up spending the money particularly effectively. As long as we bring in someone like Solanke on top of what we already have, I won't complain too much about that particular position.

Yep, I am pretty much on the same opinion.

From clubs perspective, it would absolutely make sense to cash in on him if the offer is good. Specially looking at the background - we have held on to so many players for far too long, just to see them lose value and then be released next to nothing.

But from the other hand, he seems like a guy that cares about other things than money. I've got no doubt that he always has tried hard and gave his best for the club. So far this has not been good enough to put it very lightly. He is close to being club record signing, but he has been really effective for 9 games out of 76 so like ... 12% of the time.

If he is determined to stay and fight - I can respect that. I am almost sure it is not gonna work, but I would be very happy to be proven wrong about him!

P.S whoever said that he "fits Ange system"... might have oversold him a bit. He does work hard and has good workrate -I agree to that - but Ange wants to play with a ball A LOT. And let's be honest - Richie ball control has been fluctuating between "poor" and "absolutely shocking" with ball at times bouncing from his feet to random direction 6 m away. In the short stretch of form, it was highlighted as well, that where he was effective were one-touch-finishes. So he gets to end of crosses and passes. But at least up to now he hasn't been able to take the ball down, control it and then pass it accurately while being in tight areas in/next to opposition box.

I'm glad he's staying but he's probably gone next season. It's hard to have two strikers like that and to keep them both happy.

Yeah that’s seems to always be the issue others teams have strength in depth in that area two decent strikers and both seem happy but us we’ve adequate cover midfield/defence but up top we always lack in a decent back up striker…..but if this transfer comes off and Richarlison is happy to stay then then i‘m with that

It’s been so long since we’ve had two proper starting 11 strikers, and it baffles me that some fans want to return to our gone years of vulnerability in only having one quality striker.

Who else are we signing to dovetail with Solanke? Hopefully not some relegation fodder from the bottom 4 of the PL….. Bamford maybe?

Would absolutely make Solanke first choice, force out Richy and give Lankshear mins rather than keep the Everton flop
