So what you are saying is that only white can be racists then?
In other words, you are indicating that if an African say to white person that "you all look alike" it is not racism but when a white person say Son and his cousin look alike it is not racism 🤔
Yes that's how rascism works my freind. LOL Seriously and I say this with love you really need to do some educating yourself on the subject. Do you understand the etymology of the word 'trope' for example.and it's specific use as regards race. Because honestly it's far more complicated than your contribution suggest you understand. I don't want to be patronising to but your examples are very cringe.

I don't need to educate myself on WOKE racism. I think you need to educate yourself rather. I don't find it cringe to give personal examples from Africa myself. I am not writing an thesis about the subject.
Racism is racism no matter what color it comes from and color it's aimed at - not just from whites. But you disagree, so we just have to agree to disagree.

You're not and I knew the overreaction, primarily stoked by our own fanbase, would lead to a disproportionate punishment. I absolutely do not condone what he said, not one bit, but the reaction is a reflection of what passes for the stocks these days plus the dumpster fire that is social media - plenty of people happily sat on their high horse virtue signalling their disapproval for their quick fix of social clout via likes.

Meanwhile, Enzo Fernández releases an actual hate fuelled single with his Argentinian teammates as backing singers and what does he get for his "apology"? A promotion to captain. Go figure.

This is a disingenuous strawman.... Not a single person here who has condemned Bentancur (whether they think he deserves firm punishment or otherwise) will have excused Fernandez... NOT. A. SINGLE. ONE.

If the underlying implication here is that we as a fanbase should be more accepting of racism like the proudly racist chavs in order to achieve a similar (non-)outcome; then sorry.... Fuck that (and them).

Meanwhile; in blaming Spurs fans for "over-reacting", you're naive if you don't think oppo fans will gleefully stir the pot over shit like this.

So Bentancur getting punished by the FA for something the club have already dealt with, and Son has accepted an apology from...

Hang on...

WAIT, WHAT, HOW?
Ok so how does this work other than let's screw Spurs. Because Bentancur was in Uruguay no?

Oh, you again...

Who the fuck said anyone here excused him?? A little common sense would tell you that when I was referring to Fernandez I was soley talking about the PUNISHMENT or lack of i.e. Being given the captains armband. You're just reading what you want to read.

Literally a disengenous strawman argument you've just accused me of using. Mind explaining how, in my words, a "disproportionate" punishment means I'm calling for no punishment at all? Rodrigo was pure ignorance, Fernandez was actual hate - i'm not going to argue on definitions of racism, but if you think both were the same then we live in two different worlds. Stay in yours and I'll stay in mine.

Our fans made the video go viral especially on Tottenham YouTube fan channels with their overblown condemnation - that's how I originally found out. Opposition fans jumping on the bandwagon is a side-effect of certain people airing out our dirty laundry for ad revenue. Funny how these same content creators are suddenly more forgiving now there's a potential 12 match ban. Yes, these hypocrites play a part in what I believe is an overreaction.

So the FA have spent the better part of 3 years ensuring that teams take symbolic knee for an incident unrelated to the sport that happened in the states, but now all of a sudden they want to play the "international waters" card. And people wonder why players like Ivan Toney didn't want to take the knee.

Were you or were you not using the lack of punishment of Fernandes to emphasise how it was Spurs fans "over-reacting" that has caused Bentancur to be punished?(*) .........The implication being that if we held our players to a lower standard (like the storied racist Chavs no doubt were) then he too could have benefited for a lesser or no punishment?

(*If not then the reference had no immediate pertinence to the predicament OUR club finds itself in.)

(FWIW: As soon as the story broke, many assumed he would face punishment regardless of any subsequent so-called social-media frenzy....... Spurs fans didn't break the story nor did they bringing it to the attention of the media or the FA.)

Like I said; fuck the Chavs...... Thankfully, we get to set our own standards.

You seem awfully sure of this..... Is this a factual assertion? .......If so can you link me to a credible source?

Considering a potential 12 match ban to be disproportionate to other racism-linked punishments doesn't mean people are retrospectively more forgiving of what RB said.

(I also put it to you that lots of people talking about X isn't a measure of the extremity of the feelings - i.e. the suggested "Overreaction" - towards RB.)

The Bentancur situation was resolved in house and should of been left as that.

So no reservations about the lack of punishment and the subsequent promotion that Fernandes received then? .......You think Liverpool's chosen path for the Suarez was appropriate? .......The Chavs handling of the John Terry case was all good?

I suggest to you that THFC did very little, cos they knew the FA would act in due course anyway.
