The Dealer

As an introduction I have been running a player ratings thread on another site and have transfered all the data across to this site.

It's a bit long winded this first ice breaker but try and stay with it.

Ratings are taken from newspapers, TV , Spurs sites and neutral sites. But most importantly and kept separate are forum posters ratings. A couple of days after the match or before the next one I collate the ratings and display the averages for each player.

The thread stays the same, no new thread per game. This makes tracking back easier.
I rate all games and there will always be around 10 from the media etc. It would be good to get some forum input but I realise it may take some time to get going. I may have to do some prompting but its down to personal choice. The more data goes in, the better because it gives a more reliable average.

My findings after 3 years is that for a player to achieve a rating of 7 across the season is nigh on impossible, its not been achieved yet !!
As a guide a 5 is poor, a 6 acceptable, a 7 good, 8 very good, 9 excellent, 10 exceptional. 0.5 marks are encouraged and the difference between a 6 and 6.50 is significant as you will find out. Likewise up and down the scale.

As you can see the 6 bracket with small increments is the main measure. Anything less than 6 over a long period probably means the club gets rid !!

Looking forward to this. Used to maintain ratings thread back in the day on Glory-glory. You'll get the usual cunts knocking it down or putting stupid ratings to make some pathetic point but I enjoyed doing it for the results it showed over a sustained period of time.

Personally watch games too emotionally to apply scores, so happy to see numbers from those who remain clear enough minded, to feel worthy of scores.

Team = 5.75/10 (before 0-2 = 2/10 after 0-2 = 8/10)

If you have time, Spursplay is good for level headed deep dive with rewind facility to watch passages of play. I am currently into the second half where Kane scores. I spotted something interesting....Dier played a nice long ball with the sun in his eyes with one hand shielding the sun. It went to Doherty on the edge of Brentfords box, nicely headed down, went to Hojbjerg who found Lenglet. He crossed and assisted Kanes superb header goal. It was a good team goal started deliberately by Dier with a long ball finding its target. Someone suggested Dier lumps too many long ball, well this one worked.

Give it a go Zest, it's been a good response so far but a few more ratings would be good. Currently 8 including mine. Need 10 ideally.

People on holiday may have missed the match such as myself. Should pick up after the holidays with the ratings.
