Our midfield arrangement is not right, the spaces between players are far too big and it’s making it hard for us to play out and defend properly.

I get that we are trying to play more expansively but the balance is not right. The team needs to be compact and spring quickly into the spaces, not play slowly and spread themselves too far apart. We move the ball so slowly it makes it hard to play at all.

Lo Celso and Ndombélé together won’t work until they improve their movement without the ball. Ndombélé in particular doesn’t offer much at all without the ball at his feet.
