To any youth team watchers, who do you think has the greatest potential of our academy prospects?

Obviously Skipp, but of those further down I like the look of Devine and have an inkling he might be the best talent from the guys who've been around the first team (Scarlett, John, Cirkin, Fagan-Walcott, White, Parrott). But I haven't seen much of them.

Mourinho said Scarlett was a diamond - is he that good? Seems a lot of pressure to put on a 16 year old. What are his strengths? He seems more of an all rounder rather than having outstanding pace or technique?

I think it's pretty telling that Mason doesn't have Devine and Scarlett in the senior squad. Not sure if they are still training with the first team?
Like Skipp you're only able to form a realistic opinion of these kids is when they start playing regular non-youth football.
But having said that I am surprised that Parrott has not done better.

Great shame - but Scott Parker his immediate predessor went to become PL Fulham's manager and immediately before that our u18 head coach went to be ManU's assistant first team coaxh. It seems our youth coach choices are highly rated.

I thought Matt Taylor was doing very well with u18's and some of the players he worked with have already made first team debuts - Harvey White, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Nile John, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett - and with the likes of Dennis Cirkin and Jamie Bowden playing in pre-seasons and being on first team benches.

Not forgetting Alex Inglethorpe who runs the whole youth set up at Liverpool

Is that the Matt Taylor that iirc played as a left back/midfielder for Portsmouth?
