Developing young players usually takes about 5 years from age 16, and getting experience by way of loan or getting minutes for Spurs team in the last 2 years is pretty much a must to get the experience to join Spurs first team.
The lack of loans under Poch is still hampering us as we don't have many u23 players with much playing experience gained on loan so the options for players experienced enough to be HG options for the first team next season is pretty low.
You really think that is the case? We are about to end the 2022 season. Poch left us in November 2019.
So 30 months of football since then with not many loans is ALL down to poch?
When you have literally just said the last 2 years of their development is the time to spend on loan. Like skipp for instance?
IMO players picked out for future success never kicked on. Despite going on loan.
I think some other decent players have left over money and playing time.
Mourinho and conte not known for promoting youth. Probably agents in their ears telling them this.
Markandy the most recent. Poch fault he has not been on loan last 12 months???
Parrott needs to come back in the Summer so Conte can take a look at him.
A loan strategy depends upon multiple things including building up relations with other clubs who might loan players. That takes years to build up.
KWP was not loaned out nor played for 3 years despite several MoTM performances, and and player moved on. Of course after being played at Southampton he's now a decent player - and if still at Spurs might well be considered our best RWB/LWB.
Of course it doesn't stop there, Noni Madueke (as an example) did not accept a pro contract and left to go to PSV - potentially a star that we would struggle to buy
Poch is not the only issue that the youth set up has but his mismanagement of youth has a tail which we are only is only just about getting through.
You should understand youth development is a multi year process - the more important years being 5 years from age 16. So 30 months is way less, which is why your post is based upon a lack of understanding of youth football
BTW, the views of one of many specialists in youth development and coaching :
I don’t think you understand it tbh.
Years to build up relationships to make a loan? Really?
Yes, pretty obvious I'd think.I don’t think you understand it tbh.

Why post on something you clearly know nothing about.
Go away and play FIFA/Xbox or whatever somewhere else
Yes, pretty obvious I'd think.
God knows how many phone calls/approaches/cold calls et al clubs get from agents etc. I'd be tempted not to accept a single one unless it came from a rock solid relationship where there was a decent history of good loans

Spurs u18 v Aston Villa u18 @ 12 noon Saturday
Unavailable due to injury call ups : Renaldo Torraj, Rio Kyerematen, Jamie Donley, Will Andiyapan, Thomas Bloxham plus players such as Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine still eligible to play u18's although rarely do.
So expect a less experienced team on Saturday

Replies I got from people who work in football varied from
Could be a phone call
How long is a piece of string. Generally needs to be sorted out quickly.
Could be days, couple of months. Depends.
I knowSpursidol has zero involvement in football. “Armchair expert” in his own words.
MaybeWhite Van Jan you work in the game? But your reply said not.
And maybe you have both realised how many clubs we have dealt with over a 5 year period now?
Keep up the good work.
