Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our defence sure played in over desperation. Rushed when there were no need. Cleared the balls right back to feet of Liverpool players time and time again.

There was a ball little Mane went up and got it from the air over and in between Diet and Toby.

Is that Spursy? I think its about attitude. We can't play like we want to keep lunch money. We need to play like we want to take it from them. Froze again like CL final. Different managers same afraid playing. Not a matter of tactics I don't think but more in the attitude.
Yeah this was basically what I was getting at when it comes to the big games we freeze up.

Why do we keep falling at the last hurdle then?

Well I think it's because we're caught in a negative feedback loop. If you bottle it 5 times in a row the 6th time becomes inevitable.

My really controversial point is that I think this has been baked into the club now after happening so many times and I'm really fearful its impacting even our best players in the grudge matches (see Kane).

If Jose can banish the bottle then he really will be a legend at this club.

I don't think it's "Spursy"

I just think it's Spurs.

This season from a results perspective has barely been any different from our last 5 seasons. We're still dropping points to teams we shouldn't be dropping points too and we're still dropping points away at the big clubs.

Our perspective however changes based on other teams performances.

Our point total this season has seen us good enough for 2nd. Here is how it sees us in the last 10 seasons for example:

2019-20 - 5th
2018-19 - 6th
2017-18 - 4th
2016-17 - 5th
2015-16 - 5th
2014-15 - 4th
2013-14 - 4th
2012-13 - 4th
2011-12 - 5th
2010-11 - 3rd

Denial the first stage of the grieving process.

I'm already at acceptance.
Pathetic child..

I have always taken pride that we have the best fans around, but whilst there are tools like you, that pleasure has been taken away..

I don't give x's as it's not my thing but take a look at how many you have received.. Does that not give you any clue as to how pathetic you are?

What's the use in denying facts? I've never seen another team in England be so good for so long but always coming short.

Is it unique to us? No. We're probably only second to Neverkusen though.

How have we amassed 17 trophies if we are ALWAYS coming short?? were they given as gifts?
That was when we weren't Spursy. How many clubs in the world in th last decade have lost out on CL football because of bad lasagna? How about finishing top 4 and still lose out because their hated local rival absolutely shithouse a CL win?

How about scoring the most goals, conceding the fewest but still losing the league to some italian malcontent who managed to beat us in his first season with Victor Moses as his starter, before fucking off to Italy.

We are Spursy as fuck, but that's OK. Love the club all the same.

If it makes you feel better, I think woolwich are even bigger bottlers over the last 10 years or so.

the only 'spursy' game weve had this year was west ham!

- Dominating Newcastle only to throw it away with a 97th minute penalty...
- Not taking advantage on a weekend where Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool all drop points

There has been plenty of 'Typical Spurs' this season.

Luckily for us, other top teams have just been poor by their standards.

Despite being shit Woolwich won an fa cup last season we last won one in 1991...
they bottled the Leicester season just as much as us. Each FA cup the last few years is a token relief from their slow descent into utter shitness.

newcastle was a poor VAR decision imo. dont think you can class that as us throwing it away. we are not going to win every single game. weve had fixtures thrown at us left right and centre recently too and thats gonna drain us. think weve been good this season and have looked solid, mainly down to having sissoko and PEH protecting the defence, who lets be honest isnt the best. dier and aurier are defenders that need big help. putting a genuine quality CB at the back next to toby would improve us massively, dier has been good this year but we need better.

It was - but it shouldn't even have come to that.

The more we fail to finish teams off the more it's going to happen. Palace a most recent example of that.
well thats why bale was brought in wasnt he. because bergwijn has shown all year hes seriously lacking in end product as show yet again last night with a golden chance to win it. its time for bale to really come alive now and give us some value because hes needed now.

Plenty of fans have said the exact same thing as me but in a tamer manner.

People are just seething at me because I've put it into such blunt words.

Yeh.... All 21 people that disagree with your post are just soft and you've seen the light.....???

Load of old faux-woke bollocks.....

I think people just dont like the word spursy. For me i think its a funny word, and i dont give a shit if some opposite fans use it. Its not really a swear word or anything. And once we start winning things, it will be a funny reminder of the old days when we didnt.

Sickening comment anyone throwing a word around like that is vile.

Would you say that to someones face in real life?

Disgusting now, never thought someone would turn to using that word because of a difference in footballing opinions.
Let's be clear its the Avatar not the opinion the poster commented on and I agree 100% with him...call it a vibe. I'd never put anything on the Internet id not say in person.

I can't disagree with your sentiment here, we have been playing brilliantly this season and the mentality has definitely improved but that "final hurdle" moment is something that does seem to be baked in to us as a club at this point and removing that will be, imo, Mourinhos biggest challenge.

It doesn't help that these players watch what is being said in the media all the time, they have TV sets in the rooms where they eat food etc normally always playing fucking sky sports so they are hearing those opinions of us being bottlers all the time etc, can't be helping.

However, the thread is kneejerk.

You should try telling folks about Kelp...

Plenty of other fans felt like that was our title chance gone take a peek over at the "are we going to win the title" thread.
Come on, you wouldn't even have started this thread if we (Spurs, not you) had drawn last night....
In fact, the only reason you were on here in the first place was probably because 'Goonercunt.com' crashed after YOUR lot drew 1-1 with Southampton!!
