Agree. Some of Verts best performances for club & country have been at left back. Even though he "doesn't like it" in that position. Why not go with 4 "big uns" against a team whose main threat comes from aerial set pieces? I'd have benched Mason & possibly Eriksen for this one. But let's see how it goes before we all start screaming blue murder.
Chiriches is awful in the air though, so playing him at centre half makes little to no sense if the reason we're playing certain players is because of height. I'd love nothing more than Chiriches to play a blinder today, but he's been so poor at centre half that I'd much rather we played Dier at centre half and slot Chiriches out on the right
