Hi there. Am I the only one who thinks that the squad is currently good but very unbalanced? great quality & depth in midfield, great quality in defense but without the dept that will last a whole PL & EL season?

Great to post here for the 1st time.

Liverpool and Tottenham still in the running for Belgian defender

Atletico Madrid have failed in their bid to land Liverpool and Tottenham target Toby Alderweireld according toTalkSPORT.

The in demand Belgian defender has entered the final year of his contract at Ajax, but the Dutch club are keen to get the most out of his sale and have reportedly rejected Atletico’s offer as it was well short of their demand of 6.4 million pounds for the versatile center back.

Alderweireld has been widely tipped to join the Premier League all summer, and even rejected a move to Norwich early in the transfer window despite the English minnows having had a bid accepted by Ajax. The 24 year old is keen on moving to a club where he will still be able to compete in Europe, and is yet guaranteed a starting berth, making Spurs one of the favourites to land him.

However, with Michael Dawson, Jan Vertonghen and the rejuvenated Younes Kaboul all options at center half, Alderweireld is worried he may not get enough first team opportunities, giving Liverpool a glimmer of hope in their pursuit of the youngster.

Atletico though could well beat the English sides to the punch as they are in the UEFA Champions League this year, and could snap up the player with an improved offer.

Romanian linked to Spurs once again

Sky Sports links Spurs with a move for Vlad Chiriches
By Dan Lifshatz | 24th August 2013

Steaua Bucharest center back Vlad Chiriches has reportedly been linked to Tottenham once again, according to a Sky Sports report. The center back was reportedly close to signing for Spurs just a few weeks ago before Steaua Bucharest owner Gigi Becali called off the deal because of the speed of the transfer.

However, this time Spurs have reportedly approached the Romanian club with a brand new offer for the 23-year-old defender, offering a deal that will be fully paid off by January of 2014. According to the Sky Sportsreport, the full value of the deal will be in the region of £8 million and could be completed by the end of weekend.

Romanian national coach Victor Pițurcă has reportedly confirmed to Adevarul Sports that Chiriches will be signing for another club in the next few days, according to the Sky Sports report.

“From what I know, in the next few days Chiriches will sign for another team,” Pițurcă said to Adevarul Sports according to the Sky Sports report.

The Romanian international has been with Steaua Bucharest since joining the club last summer, but has been linked to multiple European sides including AC Milan and Inter Milan, along with Spurs, but all three have failed to sign the 23-year-old up to this point.

The defender has also played for Romanian sides Pandurii Târgu Jiu and Internațional, however Internațional dissolved in 2011 despite reaching the top Romanian league in 2009 because of financial losses.

Hahahaha

Arsene on Suarez potentially opting for Real Madrid

Wenger said: "That can happen. You've certainly tried to go out with a girl but find she has chosen someone else. You don't commit suicide.

Not sure if any of you have been watching the Woolwich game today, but Cazorla's play in this sloppy match is EXACTLY why we need a smaller guy capable of opening up a tight game. He's making Fulham's players leave their boots behind in the mud.
