Why shouldn't you? People thought Falcao was great based off one good game. That didn't turn out to be true. The eye test is unreliable on its own because it's subject to recency bias, confirmation bias, prior assumptions and lack of comparative data. Clubs that rely on eye test scouting do brilliant stuff like signing Lallana and Paulinho.

Clubs that use data and then run an eye test after to sort out preferences wind up with Mane instead.
What? People thought Falcao was great based off of four years at Porto and A. Madrid where he scored 140 goals in 180 appearances, and also everyone that watched him saying that he's incredible.

if it wasn't for our depth in defence we would be flirting with relegation this season. Kane burned out, Eriksen injured. the kids still learning, Bentaleb doing fuck all after he demanded a more lucrative contract..great
#SERIOUSRELEGATIONFEARS

Come on mate, we'd not be flirting with relegation. You're losing it.

He was good, not incredible. He got big money moves to Monaco and then the United loan off the game against Chelsea.

People who looked at the stats noticed he actually was pretty average from open play. He got to take a lot of penalties, and that inflated the overall total.

People who do the recruiting at clubs take out the penalties when they evaluate strikers and other players. It's not considered to be a skill that matters. Monaco and United didn't. Then got burned when he didn't perform to his price tag, before or after his injury.

:levylol: HAHA FUCK NO I"M GONNA SELL CHADLI AND LAMELA FOR 65 MILLION AND MAKE A PROFIT!!!

So bored of everyone cunting Sammy off for no reason now. He is talking sense. We have made grave errors this window, and have regressed horrendously even just in the period from January last season.

Ugh, every 100 pages there's a knight in shining armour who failed to read the bullshit discussions he went into the past 99 pages, and believes the odd sense he speaks once a month makes him some rational debater.

EVERTON 'CHASE FAZIO'

Everton have made a £5m move for Tottenham centre backFederico Fazio, according to the Daily Mail.

Fazio has held talks with West Bromwich Albion already this summer, but the Mail say Everton have moved quickly to prepare for John Stones' departure.

Guess it makes sense with Stones on his way out

With all due respect to West Brom ... Everton is a much better move for Fazio.
I hope it happens. He's a good defender and will suit their system.

We strengthened before with the Bale money before he was sold. Don't try and twist it to suit your argument. No one was disappointed with the signings at the time.

You literally twist every comment don't you.

Again. Have we strengthened with the Bale money? Did we strengthen?
Are we stronger for selling Bale and replacing him with 7 players?

The short answer is no.
