Noni Madueke was the star of our Academy in his youth group, but thought his progress was blocked so refused to sign a contract.

Unlike say Marcus Edwards who was a full pro, so we were able to insert the sell-on clause.

Spursidol Spursidol sudoku White Van Jan White Van Jan and others will know more.

Pretty decent summary.

Noni Mandueke was captain of Spurs u16's and a star in his Englamd youth group. So one to be sure we kept hold of......but left in June 2018 as there was no longer a record of youth getting first team chances.

A year after joining PSV he was starting to make a few sub appearances (19/20), then last season a break out season in terms of goals and assists, accolodes from some saying he was best young player in europe etc (hence Dortmund lining him up as Sancho replacement) etc. .....

Seems like Woolwich will buy Anderlecht's Sambi Lokonga. Great player in the making. Glides past players like Dembele.

Also, we should go all in on Jeremy Doku. Will be one of the best in the world soon!

To clarify, Spurs should be taking a Dortmund/Ajax/Leicester/Liverpool approach to scouting and transfers, but we don't have the football operation setup to support it at the moment. All of those clubs generally look for the same type of manager and players that fit what the club wants short, medium and long term. We went from AVB to Poch to Mourinho. From a DoF to none to Hitchens/Levy.

If Paratici can implement an actual football operation and the organization can stick to some core tenets then we might be able to actually do it.

Leicester have had different types of manager (Puel to Rodgers) and the only continuity Liverpool have is due to klopps longevity. Klopp was different to Rodgers who was different to Roy.

Agree with the transfer strategy.

5'7 is very small....

but then Kante is one of the best players in the league so...

If Kane leaves, the only way we replace him, is when he comes back in a few years after he's worn out at City or United, just like we replaced Bale with Bale and might be replacing Poch with Poch....

Perhaps we could Loan him to City for a year, let him win several trophies just to keep him happy?

I know you're joking, but how do you think that works?

We lose him for a year... we lose maybe 50m off his transfer fee by kicking the can down the road one more season... he doesn't sign a new deal... moves to City next summer anyways.

Lose, lose, lose, lose.

Agree we do not have a consistent type over the years. Levy and ENIC had a target to turn us into a title winning team but approach wasn't clear from day one. Poch 5 years was a great chance to build on a sustainable youth reliant approach. Jose appointment I suppose was a step back in this area.

Poch tired of that ethos half way through his tenure..... No loans out (kWP, Onomah), pathway from academy deteriorated (hottest prospects left before signing pro deals) and became less interested in signing players to develop (rightfully or wrongly; believing he earned the right to players from the 50m+ shelf).... Also became overtly attached to his inner circle of players so the BVB 'sell high and refresh' strategy went out the window.

The blame's far from solely at his door though; Levy should be me more staunch over what kind of set up he wants rather than our approach wavering from manager to manager (like it has since Redknapp got his feet under the table).
