What i dont get with kane is his thirst for medals yet you hear in news ex players who are skint sell their medals or store them in the loft. Not sure why its a big deal for kane unless its PR.

You realise those players were probably from a generation where wages weren't life changing and they all ended up homeless alcoholics after they retired at 30?
And some auction them off for charity.
And winning it is what is important, not owning the actual medal.

No we won't.

We have enough good passers.

Adama Traore would be a great signing.

No we don't.

Because all they ever cared about was losing their slice of the pie. They never cared about about fans or the integrity of competition. I would like to see fans be as vociferous about this as the media were about the super league.

Poisoned Spurs brain initially clocked this as Real Madrid sealing a 2.7m agreement for Cameron Carter-Vickers.

And there it is. The entirely predictable bale out for the Spanish superclubs. Watch them go on a spending spree now.

Fuck no!!!

Why would we take random left-winger on board after "okay" EC?
For wingers/AM position we have Son, Gil, Moura, Alli, Lo Celso.

Even with Romero in, we need to have at least 1 more defensive signing, 1 ST + upgrade on Sissoko before we should even think about winger/AM position!

I almost never do that, but in this instance - cretinousgoat cretinousgoat and VonnegutBusy - can you explain to me after disagreeing, why should we prioritize winger/AM where we once again have Son, Gil, Moura, Alli, Bergwijn, Lo Celso

To positions like CB ... where up to now we have 0 reliable players
To position like ST ... where we have 1 player who as of now refuses to take part in club activities
To upgrading on someone like Sissoko who is afraid of the ball... while other options like Ndombele (unconsistent), Skipp (no real experience in EPL yet), Winks (well, you already know)... have lot of question marks over them.

Why is getting in another not-yet-established AM/winger higher priority than those 3 positions?

Coutinho 2020-2021 = 14 matchs .....

One of the stipulations is that it can’t be used on transfers apparently.

Agree on the Man City tweet. Absolute hypocrites, the lot of them.

This will not create a spending spree because FFP in Spain is much stricter. This is a Coronavirus bailout package to save the La Liga the French professional league were hopping that they would not need an investment package like this and that their new TV deal would cover it.

The fact is Coronavirus affected other leagues more the premier league. The thing that affected the premier league most is the collapse of the Chinese TV rights and the refusal to pay the rest of the contract.

As replacement for Kane, we need Vlahovic and another attacker.

What about Madueke?:

-One of our own (HG)
-19
-Can play CF and RW
-Appears to be technically gifted, goal contributions per game for PSV is fantastic, including in Champions League qualifiers.

We’d have a young front 3 of Gil Vlahovic Madueke for the long term.

Coutinho would probably be more useful on the field than many would think given the failure of his move to Barcelona. He's also 29, big wages, injury prone. If he was more durable I'd be all for it.

Is anybody else kind of hoping City just bid 150m for Kane so we can move on and build a new team? Obviously he's a great player but we can do more with that money than we can with 2/3 more years of peak Kane.

He's very talented but not ready to start weekly in PL. Kind of the same with Damsgaard in a way, these lads should be playing weekly. Different level of player but look what's happened to Jack Clarke, a talented lad but we've completely stalled his progression as a footballer.

Current squad looking like this.

Association trained: Carter-Vickers, Davies, Doherty, Hart, Rose, Whiteman, Rodon
Club trained: Bale, Dele, Kane, Winks, Tanganga

Foreign: Alderweireld, Aurier, Bergwijn, Dier, Fernandes, Gazzaniga, Højbjerg, Lamela, Lloris, Lo Celso, Moura, Ndombele, Reguilón, Sánchez, Sissoko, Son Heung-min, Carlos Vinícius, Gil, Romero, Golini

U21: excluded from squad count

HOMEGROWN : 9 (can only be 8, expect CCV to go)
FOREIGN : 15 (up to 18)

So, we have 3 foreign spots up for grabs. HOWEVER, if Kane, Winks and Tanganga go; we must reduce our foreign player count by 3. Obviously Skipp and Sessegnon could feature as 'regulars' in the senior squad to plug that gap, but going into the season with such a small squad could leave us exposed.
This is the current squad (assuming Romero is in.) We have 18 non-HG in Europe so one has to go.

Kane is unique and a good example of why homegrown players are a burden not a blessing.

He wants the PL record for goals which he can't do abroad.
Transfer fees have, or had, gone mental so his value is seemingly high.
If he was a foreign player we could surely palm him off abroad somewhere but he will only go to an English club.
Not only that but as if stands, only one club want him and he wants them.
What we actually need is Chelsea or United to start a bidding war.

Let's flip it round though. Some people on here have moaned that Atalanta aren't being fair by holding put for more money for Romero.
Some fans saying they should just let him go.
What's the difference?
The difference is, we are near Atalanta's valuation.

If reports are true City are some £50m shy of ours. A whole third short of the value we have put on him.

Jack Clarke didn’t even start for Leeds before we bought him.

If we can’t develop youngsters this season- when we’re in the ECL, when can we?
If Gil & Madueke start all Cup games and a handful of PL games, that’ll be around 20 starts. Decent game time?
