I think he should be kept for sure. I watched a YouTube video the other day which showed all of our goals from last season. I was surprised on how many he scored, had a direct assist, or his ran made space, or he made the pass that brought the assist.I'm neutral on Lucas. I can see plusses for keeping and/or selling him.
Malinovskyi would be a quite a decent signing, led Serie A in assists in 20/21 in only 1800 minutes. As noted he's got a left foot like a traction engine and is a set piece specialist. He's also won Serie A player of the month twice since May 2021, which is pretty impressive. The only other player to win it twice in the last two seasons is Hakan Calhanoglu. One time winners include Ronaldo, Zlatan, SMS, Lukaku, Insigne, Koulibaly, Vlahovic, Osimhen, Brozovic, and Tonali.
Gasperini loves to use him as impact sub to come in and change games, which I imagine is roughly what he'd do here. At Atalanta he basically plays the Kulusevski left sided inside forward role, they also play wingbacks. But he plays more centrally for Ukraine, in a midfield ahead of Zinchenko and Stepanenko (who is a standard #6).
Think he'd be a strong rotation option for us, which I imagine is what Conte and Paratici envision. Not quite Perisic, but similar profile in versatility and experience.
it's a question of realism to me.Not much choice tbh. He’s done, whatever the reason his career at PL level is over, he just can’t do it.
Getting him off the books at all was a win, really.
I feel sort of bad for ol’ Trix&Herc. Yeah, their info is third rate at best, but it’s not their fault that they have mods who suck them off daily and sycophants who take their word as gospel, ya know? There’s been rumours that the leaks have been heavily plugged since Paratici and it’s clear their information is now near useless. I mean, it always was, but they’re not even close to in the know since Conte was appointed.
There is mass suspension of disbelief over this fact over there, despite all the obvious evidence of their inaccuracies.
We could get JWP and I bet Kane would still be the first one lining up for a free kickWe buy this guy Harry has to be taken off free kicks no ifs no buts.
Twitter account covering Atatlanta is the origin of the story I think
Worth seeing which reputable media report the rumour over the next few days, but he's an interesting player which fits Conte's reported liking for older players (such as Perisic), although we haven't seen many of them
Can't get excited for some one I only heard of when taking a dump and reading this thread this morning. So now we've got all excited over this guy, we are just waiting for the usual suspects on twitter to pour cold water over these rumours right? :contefacepalm:
If Perisic and Harry are on the pitch when we have a free kick ....will be interesting. We buy this guy Harry has to be taken off free kicks no ifs no buts.
You have to remember that players like Messi, Kane de Bruyne, etc., etc. are marked much closer, so those stats don't give the real picture of contribution.Malinovskyi has created 32 big chances in his last 2 full seasons.
To put that into perspective, over the same time period:
Lionel Messi has created 53
Kevin de Bruyne has created 35
Harry Kane has created 34
Angel di Maria has created 34
Trent Alexander-Arnold has created 33
Kylian Mbappe has created 32
Mo Salah has created 30
Karim Benzema has created 29
Dmitri Payet has created 29
Neymar has created 28
Memphis Depay has created 25
Son Heung-Min has created 24
Ivan Perisic has created 24
Milinkovic-Savic has created 21
James Maddison has created 17
Dejan Kulusevski has created 16
He is right up there with some of the best creative passers in world football. And doing so in a weaker team than basically all of them.
Well he's never come across as the brightest light on the Christmas tree.Weekend trips to Marseille and Milan. Skiing in the Italian Alps. Lil jaunt to Croatia, Berne, Munich or Barcelona. Beach house, mountain house, city house. Out there I'd buy a sweet lil coupe, find a sweet lil thing to drive around in it, and fuck off into a thousand sunsets.
It actually makes me kind of pissed off thinking how Winks turned all that down.
You have to remember that players like Messi, Kane de Bruyne, etc., etc. are marked much closer, so those stats don't give the real picture of contribution.
F.ex., Kane or Messi creates space for other teammates because they're so closely marked, but such stats don't come up.
Moussa Sissoko was given lots of space to make his runs because opponents knew he posed hardly any goal threat, so they chose to close down space of better goal threats.
Shouldn't be too difficult to explain to him that twatting the ball over the bar or into the wall 3 times per game does nothing to get him closer to the record...If Perisic and Harry are on the pitch when we have a free kick ....will be interesting.
Perisic can definitely take a free kick, corners as well. I know Harry wants that record but Conte needs to sort him out.
