Maddison is a baller but 70m? hellllllll no
I don’t think he’s actually that good, hasn’t even got close to an England squad. Even Winks has. I don’t think he’s the answer at any price but £70m is an outrageous price.

I know Mount has been a bit ordinary for England recently and he plays for Chelsea but this just is not true.
Southgate has his favourites for sure. I’m certain he only has Grealish in the squad because of the fan uproar if he didn’t. He doesn’t like him as a player either. In fact any player with a bit of character or someone who might challenge him seems to struggle to get in the side while yes men like Maguire and Mount get a place.
Look at the end on the day the price is the price, I was speaking hypothetically anyway but only in light of the fact that Conte wants a CAM and we need homegrown players so the only logical player I could think of was him, and if we have secured our targets and have money left to burn then why not? It doesn't make a difference to us regardless because we can more than afford this is exactly the kind of scenario you'd think the money can be used for.

Mount is an elite presser and works his nuts off, Maddison doesn't striker me as the same.
Not last season, last season Maddison was fantastic playing in a very ordinary Leicester team. You ask me 2-3 years ago about him I would have said all technical and flair but now he has grit and imposes himself on games.
If we are going cheap on the LCB in Lenglet and cheap on the RWB in Spence and have a load of money left because of the investment by Joe why not. The alternative is to spend a bit less but still £50m on someone like Paqueta who failed in Italy but is doing well in France and would still cost £40-50m and would be a far far bigger gamble than Maddison.
Players like Bissouma, Richarlison are game changers because we know they won’t fail or it’s very unlikely they will, that’s why they cost a lot. Maddison fits into that category.

So all he has over him is elite pressing? What about all the other fundeementals a CAM should have technique, vision, first touch, passing? ...Maddison is even better at free kicks.

Maddison is a cunt but for me he's better than Mount in every aspect ability wise. Mount may work harder, but Maddison is the better player. Make of that what you will.

What sort of price for Tanganga. I think we will probably ask for 15-20 but probably take 10 or 12 with a sell,on clause. Don’t think he will ever be good enough for a team challenging top 4. Gives everything but can be a bit wild. Also injured far too often.
