You've been banging on for months about getting our youngsters in and trusting them, but now you want to bring in random cheap players rather than trusting our young players? You even want to buy players who's name you don't know.

You really are a strange one.
I’m not saying don’t give our youngsters especially the academy players a chance. Btw we seem to be ‘selling’ a few of those already. I’m saying we needed a god midfielder and kone could have been it. Good levy price and looks like a moussa dembele type. Center forward dovbyk who I think was one of the top goal scores in Spain last season again about £25M right levy’s street. Those would have cost less than solanke. We were all given the impression we wanted eze and Neto. Also rumours of chiesa. Ok everyone goes on about his injuries but he played enough games last season more than rich who gets ‘injured’ not even playing games. There were also defenders we could have gone for some on a free but didn’t. So does the scouting department really know what they are doing. All of the players we got none were involved in major summer tournaments. Everyone here kept banging on about oh there’s still plenty of time until window closed after we got no one after the tournaments finished. No one was saying oh yeah let’s get solanke and oddebert at the time. They happened when the season was about to start. Surely they could have got them much earlier! We seem pull out the stops for timo!

Now do you think if we had got say kone, dovbyk, Neto, eze, chiesa and some defenders people would have moaned? Most of those would improve our starting 11/16.

One of the biggest cognitive biases of football fans is wanting more and more players during the transfer window.

Matchday squad is 20 (11+9) so you fill out that, but probably don’t want any of your ‘name’ players being outside of that. Well, when you look at our 20 then it’s kind of full. You want to bring a RW to start instead of Johnson? Then Johnson struggles to even make the bench.

You bring in the ‘all-action’ midfielder? Then probably Bergvall is not on the bench.

Reminds me of this

The TW is show is over for now.... so you all can go home and rest.

And see ya all again in 4 months time at the January TW...

a man in a white suit and tie is holding a cowboy hat and a microphone

Levy thought the window will close today Aug 31st 11.00pm. He accordingly prepared last minute audacious bids for 2 marquee players in an endeavour to win the PL title this season.

Oh well, we have to blame the fcukin PL for faxing him the wrong date.

There is always next summer TW, Levy. We trust you more than any other time in the history of enic.

Last season all I have heard was how frustrating these 3 players were and demanded Ange to put more faith in the youngsters, because they couldn't do much worse.

Supporters of this club are really amazing.
I also heard a lot of people frustrated with these players calling for decisive upgrades when the transfer window opened. ....not being replaced with teenage prospects that may or may not come good in the future.

So..all in all it's back to the future...really can see how we progress much this season and im true optimist regarding thfc..same old same old book balancing bollocks and the manager passing the Buck with the" yeap I'm happy" again...fortunately I'm fucking off to Portugal for the winter after I come back from south America.

Ange has made it quite clear, he doesn't want to buy players for the sake of filling a position if that player isn't better than what we have, or isn't invested in what he is trying to do with the team.

If Ange is a picky fucker who's to say that's a bad thing given some of the dross we have just off loaded.
We couldn’t find better wingers than the ones we have?

I think people generally just want better players. It really isn't more complicated than that.

EVERY fan of every football club wants better players though but does anyone take into account what the manager wants and how he wants to manage his squad?

For years on this forum people were adamant (and some still are) that Levy never backs his managers and never commits to their vision yet since he's now doing that fans don't like it and cry about players they want us to sign even if the manager clearly doesn't want them or those who don't fit in any way shape or form, we can't have it both ways.

Sure, but people also wanted better players than Vicario, VDV and Udogie last year and they all turned out well. If three of the players we have just bought kick on like these three did then this will have been an excellent transfer window.

They might not of course, but there’s a risk in every transfer. Find a list of the top ten most expensive transfers in every position and see how many were disappointing and quite a few are abject failures

Here are the player I saw had been linked to Spurs by different media outlets for this 2024 summer TW.
And, before anyone think I believe Spurs were after all these players: no, I don't! I just posting this to show how the media love to link various clubs to player for the sake of click baits (but some - or rather a few - of the links are, of course, genuine)

Raj the football expert says so.

You're a complete clown.

Oh look the angry little man has returned again I see.

Remember last week you were adamant we weren't working on corners despite showing you images of us clearly working on corners and then scoring from a fucking corner against Everton lmao

Then you went offline due to your embarrassment and probably upset because we won and it ruined your whole weekend

You're far too angry for this site, go and have wank or smoke some weed or something man :davieshmm:

We needed at least three more, a backup GK, a LB/LCB and a proper midfielder.

Our squad has probably slightly improved but not enough imo to catch up with the Top 3. Indeed, the gap has probably increased.

Finishing 4th or 5th won't be easy, United have made some moves, Chelsea seem a mess but they do have some genuine quality in their squad and we're not guaranteed to finish above any of Newcastle, Villa, Brighton or even West Ham.

It could be a tough season, how long will Ange last?

We will finish somewhere between 5th-8th depending on how well we and the others do obviously.
