Frances midfield and attacking options are eye wateringly good. Tchouameni and Camavinga coming through too means there are two extremely talented players in the 6-8 roles for the next euros. They have that balance in their game necessary in tournaments.

Nkunku will surely fit in somewhere eventually.

This WC will see us with the two best forwards in the world in Benzema and Mbappe. Need a new number 9 to step in for next euros … not sure who.

Weak point is looking like the defence - there isn’t really the partnership there you’d like and Varane is experienced but has lost form. Kimpembe is top drawer though. Still got konate at Liverpool in the wings … as well as Koundé and upamecano…

This seems reasonably balanced and probably supports an argument that opening up engagement with somewhere like Qatar is a small step in the right direction of influencing better human rights.

Some of the Welsh national football team's staff will not travel to the World Cup in Qatar because of the country's stance on gay rights.

Head of Welsh football Noel Mooney said the team would use the event as a "platform" to discuss human rights in Qatar, where homosexuality is illegal.

He is also asking Fifa and Uefa to "think very deeply about their conscience" when choosing host nations.
Qatari officials have said it would be a "tournament for everyone".

Talentless squad.

I agree that the squad is shit, but football in Australia relies on (both financially and from a wellbeing stand point) us making the WC to keep growing the game here. The World Cup is the one time everyone finally pays attention to football, to go almost a decade without that would be a disaster.
