Huge outbreak at Villa.

Spurs cannot deal with another postponement - all possible alternative match days are already filled up, unless we exit EL, and FA Cup, and ridiculous to have another 4 match week.

Spurs are the only side so far to have a 4 match week with an EL qualifying match plus a League Cup match in midweek sandwiched between PL matches on weekend at start of that week and another on weekend at end of week with 2 midweek matches

If they can field a team then they must fulfil the fixture, let’s hope they have it under control. If they have 14 fit players then the match against us must go ahead.

Agree with both posts above we simply cannot afford to postpone another game

we still have to find a place for Fulham and we're in 4 fucking comps!

Play your U18/23s or give us the points.

You have to wonder if there will be another break in play. Maybe 1-2 weeks to get everyone isolated again.

Something has to give though, either the Euros are cancelled or games start getting forfeited.

FFS. If they have enough players make them fucking play on Wed, or give us the points.

Villa have only played 15 games so far, can't be postponing any more surely.
And not to mention if Liverpool get a pass or a bye into the next round from Villa then they'll have had a lovely 2 week break going into their game against Man United.

And yet still Klopp whinges....

Let's just calm down a little bit.

I think Fulham game could be after international break(Friday) and the second game Monday the original game of that gameweek, then Thursday Europa League game and so on.. Would be logical.

And just hope that Aston Villa will be smart enough to be ready in a week.

Be calm for a second

When is the international break?

But don't the International games take place normally on Tues or weds? So that would mean a good chunk of our squad would be playing potentially Wednesday/ Friday/ Monday/Thursday. That's far from ideal.

Only option is to scrap International break, let's be honest it's crazy having players travel all round the world into different bubbles considering the severity of the pandemic at the moment.

No way international break will be canceled because of WC Qualifiers.

And playing on Friday after the international break is pretty normal routine in Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1, so I wouldn't be surprised.

I think we could be heading for a 2 or 3 week football circuit breaker. The new strain is rampant in the community now. And once it gets in a club it seems to spread more easily than before. The PL should look at getting hold of a thousand or so vaccines direct from manufacturers so it won't have to worry about future outbreaks.

It's stupid. Sport continues regardless lol!

Villa already have about 2 games in hand to play.

But their entire first 11 has either tested positive or isolating. So can't see Wednesdays game going ahead at all.

It's still a week away though. It depends on how many positives they have. The problem with Fulham was new positives the day before/day of the match.

With a week, you can identify who is positive and negative, isolate them and then play (as long as they have enough players who are negative).

Edit: Not saying we WILL be playing but it's not crazy to think it will go ahead.

Is that rule of 14 players actually real? My impression is that City had a much smaller number of players with Covid-19, yet their game was postponed - everything else is a consequence of that decision, one way or another.
