Superb performance. Of course the people ignorant of continental football will brand Fiorentina 'poor' but they're 6 points off the top of Serie A and rested several key players at the weekend with a view on this game.

We dominated them from start to finish. I can't remember them having a chance.

The final 16

Braga (Portugal)
Valencia (Spain)
Sparta Prague (Czech Republic)
Lazio (Italy)
Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine)
Athletic Club (Spain)
Leverkusen (Germany)
Fenerbahçe (Turkey)
Tottenham (England)
Dortmund (Germany)
Olympiacos (Greece) or Anderlecht (Belgium) [going to extra time]
Manchester United (England)
Sevilla (Spain)
Villarreal (Spain)
Basel (Switzerland)

Some big clubs in there. And on the other end of the scale, Manchester United.

Anyone know where I can find a list of our yellow cards for this comp? Can see us missing a few players if/when we get to the final, European refs are fucking shit

Great performance, Alli is positively Zidane-esque in the way he shifts the ball and the deft touches feathered across the pitch. It's nice to see Mason stepping up to the plate, would be easy for him to put his head down (alla Bentaleb) after effectively losing his automatic starting spot from last season. The Europa league draw from a premier league fan perspective is looking very tasty indeed, can we draw the other premier league sides next round?

Great, professional performance.

I'll admit, I wasn't too pleased with Davies for large parts of last season and a bit sceptical about Trippier before this season, but take a bow fellas. I've been thinking it for a while, but tonight was the final proof that they've proved their worth. Coming in to this type of match, while playing less than half the matches, isn't easy. It speaks volumes about these two, and about Poch system/training that they slot in so seamlessly. Oh, and while we're at it, Wimmer can take a bow as well. He's probably made a few, but can hardly recall a mistake by him.

Also, a masterclass from Chadli in showing why a modern front man doesn't have to a striker.

I'd say we're favourites against anyone but Dortmund on that list.

Either them or ManUre wd do next round

:pochohshit:

I was concerned this game could affect our form on sunday, but I hardly saw us (or fiorentina) playing with much intensity. We outplayed them from start to finish tactically, offensively and defensively. They created some silky chances and combined a few passes but other than that they were running against a brick wall.Great goal by mason, not an easy shot to pull off.
