He's not gonna be the answer to our wishes for a home grown prolific striker just waiting in the wings all along.. Is he?
Depends on what the expectations are.

Can he be a homegrown, club trained striker that nets 10-15 league goals a season? That's certainly doable.

But to expect him to be a new Kane that nets north of 25 almost every season in the league alone is just setting him up for failure.

"certainly doable" based on what??

he's probbaly not going to get enough game time to reach 5 league goals yet you think 15 is somehow doable? you realise are are trying to bring in another striker as well right?

And why would he want to hang about for 10 minute cameos here and there with us when he could be the main man for a decent club somewhere else?

He’ll never score 10/15 goals a season for us.

Same reason players do it at other top clubs - money. More lucrative to be a bench option at a top 6 club than first choice at Burnley.

Not saying we should be paying Parrott like that, but it's the reality of modern football.

Misguided/Crass comment.

Why?? I’d suggest you go and do a bit of studying into various forms of autism.

This is a medium where you can interact with others 24/7 without meeting them or ever needing to speak face to face.

The traits of numerous posters on here are in line with people on the spectrum.

And the inability to determine the difference between a friendly match and make judgements upon said match indicate they might have problems in terms of how they are able to perceive reality.

Have worked with clients with Autism for many years.

Your comment was clearly meant to use insultingly, and you back it up with this above crap.

My Irish football knowledge isn't what my linkedin profile suggests it is.

What is happening over there?
The FAI is a boys club with too many chefs who are getting paid to do fuck all for the development of the game in Ireland. There is Irish league clubs that have facilities from the 80's still and the youth set up has produced zero good players in years.
Kenny was a disaster and they are still looking for a manager with John O'Shea as an interim coach for months.
Just an absolute waste of time.

James McClean is probably the best player Ireland has produced in last ten to fifteen years - just think about that lol

It's funny but it's not true!!!

Alasdair Gold has said that Troy Parrott’s preference is to remain at Tottenham Hotspur and force himself into the first-team plans for next season.

Troy Parrott had a great season with Excelsior

Parrott will arrive in pre-season high on confidence on the back of his outstanding loan spell at Excelsior Rotterdam last season, with the striker netting 17 goals for the Dutch side.

However, the Irishman is now at an age where he cannot be considered just a young prospect anymore and this summer could very much be make or break for his chances of making it at Spurs.

It has been widely reported that the 22-year-old has emerged as a target for several clubs on the back of his impressive showing at Rotterdam, with a few Eredivisie clubs particularly keen on securing his services (Algemeen Dagblad via FC Update).

However, the Spurs academy graduate admitted to the Irish Examiner earlier this month that he does not know what the future holds, revealing that he has not spoken to Ange Postecoglou about his plans for next season.

Parrott wants to prove himself in Tottenham pre-season

Gold has now asserted that the striker retains hope of catching the Australin’s eye in pre-season and forcing himself into his plans.

The journalist wrote in his latest Football.London article about Parrott: “The striker wants to break through at Tottenham and will be pushing to be involved in pre-season in order to catch the eye. But ultimately Postecoglou will have the final say.”

Good lad - unfortunately I don’t think he’s good enuf - but love the attitude and he’s one of our own - so hope I’m completely wrong in my assessment of Troy’s ability.
