You’d have had me fooled if they were wearing white and you said it was a Kane goal. You can see the similarities and I’m sure he’s picked up some of Kane’s techniques as a striker by just training with him and watching him. The talent is there and he’s progressing nicely at a very young age.

So it seems we only need backup for Kane maximum 2 years. Some old geezer than. Suarez and Costa are both the right type.

However, Rowett is confident he won't be on the sidelines for long.

"He came off after 30 minutes of the second half and just felt his quad," he told The South London Press.

"And then when we examined him afterwards without a scan it looked as if he had just a mild strain of it.

"We don't think it is too much more serious than that. Any strain is usually two to three weeks out to make sure you don’t re-injure or come back too soon.

"He'd been doing really well but the rigours of pre-season is asking an awful lot of an 18-year-old. Hopefully it is not too serious."

Gary Rowett is not ruling Troy Parrott out of featuring in Millwall’s Championship opener against Stoke City this weekend.

The on-loan Tottenham striker suffered a quad injury in the recent friendly win at Southend United and has sat out their last two matches.

Rowett thought the Republic of Ireland international would be missing for around three weeks.

Parrott was not involved in Saturday’s EFL Cup win at Crawley Town or last Tuesday’s home friendly. He had been called up by his country for UEFA Nations League matches but had to withdraw due to his muscle niggle.

But the Lions manager told the South London Press that Parrott was making “really good progress”.

“Whether Stoke is a game too soon then we’ll probably know later in the week,” said Rowett.

I wonder if the parent club is allowed any involvement in the assessment of injuries and fitness to play. It would be a shame for Milwall to rush him back before he's ready and set him back for even longer.

It would make sense that he'd be sent to Tottenham for rehab, considering they're both London clubs and Tottenham has much better medical staff and facilities*

*yeah that's right, fuck off you Millwall mugs.

It's not at all uncommon for loanees to go back "home" for rehab if they are injured long term.
