Gary Rowett is not ruling Troy Parrott out of featuring in Millwall’s Championship opener against Stoke City this weekend.
The on-loan Tottenham striker suffered a quad injury in the recent friendly win at Southend United and has sat out their last two matches.
Rowett thought the Republic of Ireland international would be missing for around three weeks.
Parrott was not involved in Saturday’s EFL Cup win at Crawley Town or last Tuesday’s home friendly. He had been called up by his country for UEFA Nations League matches but had to withdraw due to his muscle niggle.
But the Lions manager told the South London Press that Parrott was making “really good progress”.
“Whether Stoke is a game too soon then we’ll probably know later in the week,” said Rowett.
