I don't like this modern trait of supporting players instead of teams though.
As typified by the Son/Lamela or Trippier/Aurier drivel.

To say a Spurs supporter should also support the England national team is disgraceful.
Davies plays for Wales. Don't remember a lot of support for Wales on here during the Euros.

What’s the point of the European international league replacing friendlies.
They are friendlies with a trophy.
Are teams going to compete furiously and risk injury. Are they not going to experiment with formations and players and play ther best to win.
It’s just another way to make money surely.
The only difference is if you(England) get relegated you don’t get a chance to play Germany,Spain, Belgium, France etc in a friendly and lose gate money.
It benefits the revenue of the top nations and doesn’t give the lesser a chance to play against them, unless they get promotion year, after year.

This is the long and the short of it, and I'm just fine with this. If being perpetually stuck with a depressing USMNT is one of the prices that we pay for maintaining the tradition of college athletics in the US then I'm just not going to get too bothered by it.

Is there another thread to discuss this? Because I'm fine with blowing up the NCAA and allowing them to pay the people making them billions of dollars.

I agree, Your right, but we don’t praise her all the time.
It’s a tiny minority who attend her birthday celebrations and the trooping and who will get angry if you don’t stand up.
Don’t you worship your president like a king, and his wife like a queen? Like a family of Royalty.
Dont the you have a parade for him like a coronation
We don’t have Soldiers/marines at 10 Downing Street but at the Queens house.

Our Govt only got its own Jet last year. An old refuelling plane
The Queens plane is not as glamourous as your presidents. She uses the old Spurs team plane,
you lavish more money on your presidents travels and security.
Probably more tax dollars than the queen.

I hate our national anthem and don’t sing it. I also think the Royal Family is pointless. I won’t worship them.
I’m not forced to sing her Anthem at a school basketball game, at college, uni or at Spurs.
Yet I’m not unpatriotic.
I also won’t be rounded on if I sat and didn’t sing it at the FA cup final or an England game.
Some of the players don’t sing it either.
