Match West Ham versus Tottenham Hotspur Sunday 14:00

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That's hilarious, do they pretend our actual rivals don't exist?

I would be disappointed if we dropped points but not unexpected based on current form.

One thing I am confident of though is that West Ham's purple patch will end. As teams go they always manage reverting back to a circus.

They are a good side with one or two exceptional players.

Not sure which team you are referring to in truth.

Reading this thread, it would be easy to assume Spurs were in the relegation spots and the Hammers were top of the table, not 5th and 7th respectively.

Everyone here thought Villa would smash us, we beat them handily. A lot of people thought Newcastle of all teams would beat us just because there were a few more drunk Geordies than usually, and we beat them handily.

West Ham are far better than both of those teams, but our preferred XI with a whole week of rest seems like a pretty good opportunity to continue our momentum in the league.
And don't forget that Declan Rice is prime Zidane, Makelele and Vieira rolled into one superhuman athlete of a man. Not sure why they even released a Ballon D'Or shortlist this year when clearly the trophy is his for as long as he wants it.

Actually, come to think of it, the most galling thing about this weekend's fixture is the thought that we would actually be a much better side if we had their manager.

Only seems like yesterday that we were laughing about them getting Moyes in first time round, or at them for re-appointing him. Now I'd be delighted to have him over our buffoon.

They take their ice baths in dustbins, and probably take their morning work dumps in portacabins ffs... How have we let them get on par with us?

If Nuno takes a different approach than we did against Villa and Newcastle it could be trouble, but *crosses fingers* I think he learned what not to do against Palace and Woolwich. This is the first real test for the new preferred XI, so I am cautiously optimistic.

4231 attack has to be. We can’t sit for 1-0’s if he does that Nuno shoots himself in the foot.

The omens aren't good for this. My best mate (West Ham) is coming over to watch this with me, we've lost the last three (maybe four) we've watched together.

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa

Don’t you pay for this occasionally?

We haven't won a proper game under him by more than 1 goal have we? Not counting Pacos and Mura as proper games before anybody can throw them at me! Can't see that changing this weekend.

And as to the 101% effort, well sadly that's another thing we seem terminally incapable of. Our squad has mastered the billy big bollocks attitude of never stretching to maximum effort, but doesn't have the actual ability to get by just coasting.
Can't argue against that. There have been promising glimmers, but we need to show up against the top ten and in the London derbies. We'll see soon enough whether or not Nuno has the ability to make them believe in themselves.

"IF we were to beat the spurs aside from the FA Cup win would this be our clubs best week in its history.

Beat big 6 club away
Win a European Game
Beat the spurs"

The Cup final thing is strange?

Woolwich are our rivals, then Chelsea.

last season was the first time they finished above us in 20(?) years?

Why would we be so bothered about beating them? genuinely.

Because they finished above us last season and effectively relegated us to the shitty Conference, that' s not acceptable.

I mean by that logic the match vs. the goons shouldn't be such a rivalry as they haven't finished above us for what 6 seasons now?

I agree that the goons and Chelsea are the main rivals but this is still a big match in the here and now. Like it or not these are a direct rival for Europa slots this year.

I honestly don't seem them as any different to Palace, Watford or QPR.

Maybe it's because I'm not from London, they honestly don't bother me at all.
