ENIC seem to have got to a certain level and are happy to keep pocketing the profits while not attempting to take the team higher. As the owners that is their right but it is pretty shitty for a fan to see teams on a similar level with ambitious owners willing to spend and improve the team.
The yearly accounts contradict this. Unlike Kroenke who does skim off the top our financial records show little or no evidence of Lewis or Levy withdrawing money from the club.

Not really John.

TV deals and the massive amounts of money in football has changed the landscape.

In my lifetime. Sky 4 + Man City (2008-2020) v the rest. England only

Woolwich: 4 titles, 1x league cup, 9 x FA Cup, 0 x Europe.
Liverpool: 1 titles, 4 x league cup, 3 x FA Cup, 3 x Europe.
Man Utd: 13 titles, 5 x league cup, 5 x FA Cup, 3 x Europe.
Chelsea: 5 titles, 4 x league cup, 7 x FA Cup, 3 x Europe
Man City 2008 onwards: 4 titles, 5 x league cup, 0 x Europe

The rest: 4 titles, 11 x League cups, 4 x FA Cup, 0 x Europe.

Total trophies: .

Sky 4 + MCI= 79/100 = 79%
Rest = 21/100 = 21.0%

Since FFP. 2011-12 onwards:

Sky 4 + MCI = 8 titles, 8 x league cup, 7 x FA Cup, 5 x Europe
The Rest: 1 title, 1 x League Cup, 1 x FA Cup, 0 x Europe

Sky 4 + MCI = 28/31 trophies = 90.3%
The rest: 3/31 trophies = 9.7%

Since FFP and since Man City got money the sparsity of trophies for clubs that aren't in that 5 has only got worse.

In order for us to join that group and win trophies we need to match them in $$$, then results after that.
We could not bridge the financial gap staying in WHL. We needed to increase capacity to increase revenue and thus spending power.

It means that right now we are skint, we have debts to repay, interest as well, and have mandated maximum spending % on wages by our loan creditors.

It is the situation we are in. Reigning in the spending to better ourselves long term.
But you refer to the Sky 4 + Man City because it suits you're narrative.
In reality it's a big 6. The 6 wealthiest clubs in England with the financial clout. Of which we are a part.
And before you credit Levy or €NIC with that, it's worth remembering that we used to be considered one of the big 4 prior to 2 decades of mediocrity from the early 90s onwards.

Let's be honest, the Sky TV gravy train has helped us get back where we used to be, and Levy / ENIC have been as enthusiastic in riding it as anyone else.

But when it comes to spending this unprecedented wealth on the players that can give us an edge, our owners are the least inclined to do so.
Levy has openly stated this on numerous occasions.

He'll milk the market as much as he can to bring in the £££££££££s, then complains about it when it comes to bringing in the quality we deserve.

In short, he's a hypocrite

We had a famous sports executive here say "I can make the books say anything" when talking about the financial situation with the Blue Jays (MLB team) and their profits so I am always a little wary when relying on teams financial records because there seems to be a lot of ways you can classify profits as evidenced by City and the Etihad "sponsorship" and Villa buying their stadium with a different company and counting it as profit.

That doesn't mean they are definitely doing stuff like that but with all the CL money we have brought in and lack of players brought in the money certainly isn't going to improve the club.

Cunt is the word your looking for.

Final table in 2018

Poch wanted the club to finally be brave. He wanted the club to stop trying to compete on the cheap.

He was on our side. The fans side. He wanted Spurs to succeed on the pitch.

Shamefully, the majority of those fans decided to throw their support behind the leech who stabbed him in the back for 18 months and led us to the shambles we're seeing today.

Even more shamefully, most of those fans are STILL backing the cunt.

Only 2 words will be needed tonight.

LEVY OUT

I was too angry to even look at the forum until now but you blame as usual everything on Levy and could not wait to post this and other posts as soon as the match finished. I know you do support Spurs but contribute to other threads as well.
