Doesn’t matter, bar a few of them, if they qualify tip 4 or not, and the ones that re bothered it’s so they can use it for leverage for a new contract or move.

On the VAR no goal, it was one of those where if the linesman had kept his flag down, as he's supposed to do, maybe VAR would have made the lines work in our favour. Very close call.

Thanks but WHY 2 refs when the one on the pitch only needs someone to draw the lines ?

Hojbjerg and Regulions form is a massive concern, but soon the pain will be over, the club needs a charismatic manager but I hope they keep Mason as his shadow, so he can learn about man management and motivation.

BTW brilliant analysis, I think that today 2 defensive midfielders would have been the key.

Having said that he should not have been put in this situation. Get rid of Dino was correct may be too late. However why didn’t we just bring in Harry he’d have commanded respect and players like bale would have played for him and Harry would t have taken any nonsense. They performances have been no better / no worse under mason than jose except may be there is less toxicity. But you’d think that would have lifted the players , unfortunately not.
Look at what Tuchel has done at Chelsea amazing work since he joined. Whilst we just plod through the season with a 29 yr old with no experience what so ever. Not dissing mason not his fault but levy’s for his lack of for thought!

Gio, Hojbjerg, Dele, Hugo all tried hard. Dier tried to atone for his errors in the second half, Toby did his best. They were just chasing the shadows of a well drilled team.

What we're seeing on the field is the culmination of too many factors to break down in one forum post, and if we're being honest we don't know the half of it. Our back four isn't a top 10 PL back four, our best players have been played into the ground. Our squad really isn't athletic enough for modern PL and fitness is in a poor state.

More than anything they've been through 18 months of a horribly backward regime. The teams they face have been coached week in- week out to meet the standards of the modern game, and our squad just hasn't been. Jose did a really woeful job. Squad need a ruthless cull, 4/5 new players and a modern coach.

Probably need a Sporting Director and Levy to step back as well, but that likely won't happen.
 
Think we saw today the impact of not having a decent manager and any real game plan.

Just reminded me of a Sunday League team where the guy in charge is a popular fella, who gets on with all the players and just plays them in their favourite position.... but also spent the night in the boozer on Saturday (probably the same as the players).

I still to this day don't think this is a bad group of players. They have been badly mismanaged in the last season and abit and I think it's all coming to effect now.

Considering Marcelo Bielsa has players who let's be honest are Championship players, playing the way they do and getting them to run as much as they do says a lot about the management in charge of our players prior to Mason.

It's a massive shitshower of a club currently.
 
The squad needs a refresh and impetus and hunger. Tanganga should be in first team next season at centre back and learn from toby. Skipp will probably be in first team squad as well. Can see aarons arriving from norwich. Would like to see another eriksen in there. Also an attacking pacy winger who can strike fear in defences. Been crying out for that for a few years. Should go for zaha.
 
Zara is too injury prone and his another prima dona would prbly play like bale is not wanting to do the hard work. We need some 100%ers.
Agree with previous post that the squad isn’t as bad as how we actually play. Most of them are at their peak football age. Just need someone to motivate and organise with some proper tactical nous. Obviously the deadwood needs to go and a few additions in the key areas. One I’d say we defo need after watching PEH last couple months , he was awful today especially his passing, is DM. There was one Leeds attack in 2H where they had a player completely unmarked in our our box and PEH makes no attempt to close him down before the ball is cut back to said player. Awful distribution today and he wasted so many counters with terrible passing. Our only tactic really was long ball from the back to players who couldn’t be bothered to jump or fight for the ball. Son is like sissoko when it comes to heading. Even Harry wasn’t pressing anyone when the ball was hit long.

I don't think anyone would have predicted that Hojberg would have such a below par game, and I would guess that he felt by being aggressive with such an attacking line up, that it would nullify the athletic pressing game that they play. However, Bale and Son weren't as effective at dropping back into MF to support the full backs and Leeds capitalised on the numerical superiority and the defensive ineptitude of Aurier and Regulion.
