Manager Ryan Mason

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I get that: but I was responding to another poster claiming the squad was really poor. Player-for-player we are as good or better than Leeds in most - if not all - positions. However, Mason and Jose rely on allowing the outstanding players to do the heavy lifting, not the whole squad working as a unit. For me, that’s where it falls apart.

I agree entirely about the ‘engine’ - it’s been the case since Dembele / Dier / Wanyama (but mainly Dembele) vacated the middle of the park. We don’t have the legs to cover it, or a player with enough technical skill to control that space.

A better system, smooth out some of the peaks and troughs in the squad and we’ll be fine.

I’m not putting down Leeds, but that was one game where a better manager would out-think them, making better use of the quality players we do have and reducing the impact of their tactics. They clearly tired second half, and - had we covered the wings with any actual effort - most of their threat would have been nullified. It’s no surprise that we beat them comfortably earlier in the season but lost yesterday.
It goes back to the same reason we lose game after game Heart and Desire it doesn't matter how good the player is if you lack these very important aspects you will lose more than you win.
We have very few players in our squad that hate losing games they just don't give a fuck.

Don't feel sorry for the millionaire Ryan Mason
he is not yet up to being a first team manager
the question has to be why did he take it ?
he should have said no to Levy,
That’s easy for us/ you to say but situations like that have arisen for years regards especially players/managers it seems they can’t wait to get that “big” and that’s the problem it is big too big Moyes should never have been considered for United, Fat Frank though hilarious no where near capable of the Chelsea job fast forward a year or so Gerrard shoe in at Liverpool..... disaster waiting to happen! Mason isn’t up to our job for no other reason than the squad is done past it’s best and we need someone with experience in building a squad with a vision on how to play a certain way proven way that works and we’re kidding ourselves if you think that’s going to happen next season cos it ain’t we again are going to have to sit it out with squad that’s going to have to mature that’s 3 seasons minimum.

Ndontcarebele fell over, bottled challenges and made piss poor passes. He stank.
If that was an audition-don't call us, we'll call you.
"Ndontcarebele", Harry "wanks", "Fatberg"......what's with the awful nicknames? :roseunsure:

I admit, the couple that did made me laugh were Eric "Dire" and "Lo so so" ....the latter I saw in the match thread yesterday.

Players need motivating, understanding and to be coached.

Anyone who thought Mason could do (in a short time or ever) all that Mourinho and latterly Pochettino could not do is living in cloud cuckoo land.

No criticism of him other than hopefully he is benefiting from this experience.

Just don’t get the Mason snide remarks at all, as if this “kid” had any hope of salvaging this season with a handful of games.....Mason didn’t sack Jose and every single one of us would have taken the caretaker job in a heartbeat....Is Mason really picking his mates? Not really, he’s ignoring Sissoko like everyone wanted, he’s banished Sanchez like everyone wanted, he’s ignored Docherty like everyone wanted, he’s played Bale, Son, Ali & Kane in the same team like everyone wanted...yes he put Winks in at the start but is he any worse than fucking Lo Celso or Ndombele when it actually matters?.....There isn’t much more the guy can do to be honest other than let them play a little more freely, which is what the players have been doing, or at least trying to do....This season has been a shit show long before Mason.....

This summer could be a disaster for the club if Levy fucks about haggling and blocking moves for players over a few quid here or there, likewise it could be a really refreshing new dawn.
A new manager and some fucking common sense in the transfer market and we might be looking forward to next season with some excitement....
Just don’t let the Harry Kane transfer saga run to the last few days of the window and then panic buy for the sake of every single fans sanity, that never works out well for anyone.
Get your answer from Harry before he departs for the Euros, it’s that simple, keep it a secret if that works for everyone, but at least know early, just put the club first for a change and get to work early.....
Very sensible, balanced account, that will never do on here;)

Really disappointed with some of the comments on here re Mason. He's a young guy with zero experience who had been thrown in there trying to get a team into the top 4. What hope did he have.
Give the lad a break, this could ruin him and he's worth better.
Blame Levy.
zero experience? hes been around football all his life! hes 29 not 13.. playing his little mate little harry winks for 90 mins in the cup final against the best side in the world. that says all you need to know about the bloke. you dont need years of managerial experience to understand how ridiculous that is. what hes done there is indicate he has no career in management.

couple that with him favouring a useless dele over ndombele, the blokes playing his muggy little mates. hes either not conscientious at all, or hes just an absolute idiot who picks his mates.

there would be school kids that would laugh at the shit hes been doing. hes not making complex mistakes, hes making basic ones.

There was a young man named Ryan
Who thought he had the heart of a lion

So why give him the job if he was totally unsuitable ?
This thread is about a numpty choice of manager.
Nice post but he should have refused the job as not qualified !

He's not the manager though. He's interim head coach, he hasn't accepted the job as full-time manager and it won't be offered to him.

Dozens of clubs have had an ex-player take over for a few games while they find a new manager. He's just helping out his boss, which is what most employees are supposed to do isn't it?
