it just means to be recognised as one of the best in the world at what you do.

At least, it did before it got over analysed, like the term 'big club',
Yes but does it mean the best in the world at a position? So only 11 players are world class?

Or is it arguably could make a world XI? So maybe like top 25 player?

Or is it top 10 at a specific position? Which means top 100ish player in the world.

It’s different for everyone and doesn’t have an exact definition which is why every “is he world class or not” argument is pointless.

Like I said, people over analyse it LOL.

It's subjective - everyone has a different interpretation of it, you're right just like the term big club or legend, they are nonsense arguments

Don’t know that it’s nonsense. There don’t have to strict guidelines. World class means you’re more than one of the best in your league, you’re one of the best in the world.

Harry and Son are world class. Hugo is borderline. Dier is not.

It can also be temporary. James Rodriguez was probably world class for Columbia in the World Cup then shortly after for Madrid, but has since been average.

Skipp will be world class next season.

Not that difficult.

It's seemingly very difficult for you though, what are you struggling to understand here?

What you've just said is your interpretation, it differs from everyone else's - people are going to disagree with you here because it's an opinion based argument.

And your example of James Rodriguez proves my point, it's pure jokes IMO - how can you be world class for 4 weeks ffs, how does that happen? But then again that's your entire interpretation of the word, others won't agree, I certainly don't...doesn't mean you're right or wrong by the way neither of us is which is why this usually ends in countless nonsense arguments.

World class means you'd make a 25-man squad for a supposed interplanetary Earth-Mars match. Otherwise the expression is meaningless. In other words you have to one of the best four in the world in your position.

Not sure how you think Skippy will make that cut when he hasn't even been called up for England

Hugo is not a world class keeper.

I would tend to agree. However having been at the club this long, and with the last 4 managers being 3 extremely talented manager and 1 shit one who was a former GK though, without ever coming into question as the first choice as well as little to no talk of replacing him through a transfer.....combined with the fairly rare thing of a GK being captain for club and country at a comparatively young age....suggests to me that there's a lot more under the hood of the man, which us footballing peasants aren't privy to.

Don't think he has much choice tbf
A hat. A wig. He could try and clutch onto the hair he has at the back of his dome. He could use a sharpie. He could buy a pet racoon and train it to sit on his shiny head.

The possibilities really are endless.

He could easily ask for a hook up from Antonio

Because I can see the future of Ballon d’Or and it is Oliver Skipp
