Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Poch did it but with prime Son and Kane amongst others and we had a top 4 quality squad at the time.

It’s funny how peoples opinions change over time about players.

2017/18 we finished 3rd.

Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier started 29 and 32 league games. Ben Davies 26.

These days call those three players top 4 quality and you get laughed at.

Comparable players in our current squad. Dragusin, Ben Davies!!, Bissouma or Sarr?

David Moyes at 25/1 looks decent value

I don't know seriously!

Either we have shit defenders, OR it's Ange's system that makes them look extremely shit.

Right now i'm leaning towards the "defenders are shit" theory.

So far, 11 of our 13 EPL goals conceded have been when we've had defenders back in our defensive box, and only 2 related to high-line / counter-attack. So that speaks more to poor defending / individual errors rather than a system issue. Two of the 11 were set-piece goals and 9 open play.

We've conceded one goal for every 16.3 touches in the penalty box, which is 5th worst in the league. One goal for every 91 touches that the opposition has in our defensive third, which is 6th worst in the league. Since they're not breakaway goals, it's again indicative of poor box defending / individual errors.

Interestingly the four teams with worse box defending stats include highly-rated City (one goal per 15.5 touches in their box) and Villa (13.1), as well as Ipswich (15.4) and Wolves (14.1).

Anyway, whether it's system issues, "shit defenders", or concentration lapses, it's still up to the manager to fix it. It's his system, his team selection, and his pep talks.

Don't agree with the odds, but Simeone and Nagelsmann are the only ones that have won anything that we have a shot of getting. Simeone ticks all of the boxes except for style of play.

I think I clearly stated before this was going to happen. You were the one delusional thinking Ange was next Pep or something . The man can't win 2 games straight and we lost against fucking ipswich and you still talking?

Here is what I said actually.

Brighton was an anomaly. Cataclysmic fuckup that we should not have to witness again.
I still expect there to be some mistakes and bumps though. While you lot seem to think we are the finished article and expect, or are owed 3 points every game... To me it's clear we are building and are a work in progress. Quite a young unseasoned team implementing a radical style. There is progress but it has not fully translated into better results, YET.

I don't think he is the next Pep or the messiah. What he is trying to do is quite radical though and he is doing it without the riches of a City etc.
As I said previously until all hope is gone, and we play shit every game, I want to give him time to see if he can sort this out properly. I think they are also still adjusting to Sunday / Thursday regular matches too.

Unfortunately many of you guys are so angry you just can't see ANY positives. For example we only had one win so far this season, Villa. None of the others counted because red cards, shit teams etc. That's just 9 or 10 wins discredited 🤦🏻 Brentford then Utd was 2 PL wins in a row btw.

Anyway, sorry to disrupt the Ange out party.

It's a fair point.
However I do think the overall quality of the league has improved considerably since those days. I mean it was only a couple of years before Leicester won it.
That wouldn't happen today unless you think Forest are going to challenge this season?

We are a top 4 or 6 team In financial terms only Levy has over seen that, in football terms we just make up the numbers we’re a more consistent team/club in terms of league participation Wolves , West Ham , Palace that’s our level.

All 13 goals conceeded this season!

I just can't see that this is down to the tactical system failing! I just see som truly soft and horrible defending.

We need a new defence, and at least one good DMC!

Warning!!! Some truly horrific footage in this video!!!

Fuck me! You could concede ten goals in a whole season and put a highlights reel on and they’ll look similar. Go and look at every goal conceded by every team. It’s the same. Players not picked up. That’s football. Most goals come from wide areas at every level of football. The biggest issue is we don’t stop crosses coming in and we don’t have that desire and pride to not concede goals.

"Maybe" not tactical. But all that panic and scrambling about could be ironed out on the training ground.
But it continues to look worse. Which makes me question WTF we do in training.

City got 100 points that season! The following season city and Liverpool both almost got 100 points. I think the league was a decent standard.
Season after Leicester won it Chelsea went in a review breaking run in the league.

Leicester season was an anomaly. Forest won’t do the same!

I’m not sure if VAR and added time has changed football a lot. More emphasis on goals?

Last season we had our second highest goal scoring season ever. But 6 other teams scored more goals than us.
Including the two teams directly below.

Is that a quality thing? Or how the game is being played??

I am very selective on watching football blogs so I dip in and out (I did persevere with Comedy yesterday as I wanted to see what the club spin would be).
Watching the 3 Stooges and the bloke in the middle is saying he has a contact at Ipswich and before the game they really fancied it. They played like they did and thoroughly deserved the win.

Ange deserves to see out the season unless things really go south. I'd like to see if the guy can win a trophy. A trophy, a top 6 finish, and more consistency, and he should stay. TBH if we don't get those three things we should be doing better than him. Two years is long enough to be clearly heading in the right direction. I hope it works out. There is lots to like about the guy.
