Those same fans bantered the fuck out of us when we lost the final.
They can’t do that today, apparently it’s just our own fans downplaying it.
Winning last night is a million times better than losing any final. No-one wants to lose any final. Winning is all that winners care about.I openly said I’m biased, but I’m a Spurs fan first (and have met many of the members of this forum in person years before he was our manager), and an Ange fan second.
if you can genuinely say to yourself that you felt the team accomplished more after 2019 than last night, then fair fucks. I would personally say that’s a loser mentality, but I guess that’s just my wrong opinion.
Except that everything the one player who played in both finals for us has said disagrees with your opinion.
Boggles the mind, we win a trophy and some of our fanbase still seems determined to sit in Arsenals shadowWe're really talking about 2nd place is better than winning a trophy on a Spurs board

So you &others can continue to undermine him!I’ve been very open and up front about my dislike for Ange and his approach to football. But to sack him now would be to lose the dressing room. The players would be confused and hurt and imo we’d see a lot of players requesting transfers away. So unfortunately, he will stay.
Id rather have a uefa cup than finish 2nd.Whether we like it or not but coming 2nd in the EPL and reaching the CL semis does make a club a European top club. That's the objective truth.
So would most sane peopleId rather have a uefa cup than finish 2nd.
Does anyone remember when we finished 2nd to Leicester? We try our best to forget.
We will never forget last night.
Yeah I think this is a fair opinion.I’ve been very open and up front about my dislike for Ange and his approach to football. But to sack him now would be to lose the dressing room. So unfortunately, he stays.
Well if me “undermining” him leads to trophies then I’ll keep undermining him at all costs! So you &others can continue to undermine him!
Some fan you are!
It is when we are missing every midfielder who can hold onto a ball...For me there's a huge unresolved question in all of this.
Has Ange changed? Is bunkering in with a lead something we do now?
But back then the European Cup didn't have 167* teams in it, which is why the UEFA Cup was 'hard to win'.Ask any player what they would prefer and you'll get the answer.
In case you didn't know, it's far tougher to get into a CL final than to win the EL.
Bodø-Glimt were in the EL ...because they lost to Red Star in last CL qualification round. Red Star didn't make it out of the CL group stage.
Besides, your logic is based on wrong assumptions: when Spurs won the UEFA the previous times the UEFA was actually considered almost hard to win as the then European cup. So winning the UEFA back then was much more of an achievement than now.
Sorry, I read this as rival fans that you were mates or acquaintances with, who absolutely bantered us after losing that game.Read my post before having a go as I was referring to the fans that I’m acquainted with so it wasn’t those same fans who bantered us
Maybe the sort of company you keep?
Just to be clear in no way am I downplaying last night’s result
It was brilliant
Scrappy game with two poor sides but the result was all that mattered and we got over the line!
That night will go down in spurs history - but if you ask them today, which one is the greater achievement, getting to and losing the CL final or winning the europa league last night - id be very interested to hear their point of view.
my point isn't that the former is not some kind of achievement, it's that it is not a greater one than winning something.
Let me ask you this.
If arnsel had beaten PSG and gotten to, and lost the CL final, would you see that as a greater achievement than us winning the europa?
And Eintracht Frankfurt.
How will I cope! Lots of long term genuine Spurs fans were though. Not just dozy opportunists like yourself
