But back then the European Cup didn't have 167* teams in it, which is why the UEFA Cup was 'hard to win'.

There are 'easy' games/draws in the Champions League too.

If winning the Europa League is so easy now, why isn't everyone doing it?

What are we doing on here... for one day can we just enjoy winning a major trophy. Just put aside the whole argument on Ange or who has a better season... WE FUCKING WON SOMETHING. My son, turned 18 this year (only 12 months old when we won the League cup in 2008) was in tears of joy at the final whistle... He said to me, I thought I would never see us win anything... this was a special moment so let's just enjoy it and worry about next season in a few weeks. I've got better things to do like banter the fuck out of the nomads!!!

I don’t disagree that of course it’s better for Sonny to pick up a winners medal last night than a runners up medal in 2019 but the CL is a far superior tournament

Ask any player whether they would prefer to win Europa or finish runners up in CL.
It’s all about the silverware.
And not being the bridesmaid.

Yep, it was my biggest gripe with Poch. He sacked off domestic cups every season. And what did we get from it? CL football and bantered to bits..

People like Jan, Toby, Dembele,Kane deserved a couple of pots and that team could and should have lifted them

100%. Loved the Poch years and the football and vibes were unreal.

Last night was even better than that though, and as a result I think regardless of how long he’s around, it means that Ange’s legacy at this club is bigger than Poch’s.

Totally respect others will disagree with that, but Poch never got us there and Ange did.

We're basically doing what we laughed at West Ham fans for, tbh. We're not champions of Europe, we're europa league champions.

And no, we didn't. Not one team we beat make it out the CL league stage - this is a fact.

Enjoy the win without making it about how amazing Ange is by pretending we've achieved something we just haven't - it isn't fucking hard. Nice one Ange, now go so we can try to get back to duking it out with Madrid in the CL instead of Bodo Glimt. Sorry.

You know what mates football banter is like all
over the World

It’s good natured banter and that’s all it is where it’s given and taken and I’m as bad as anyone but at that time they all looked up to us and the side that Poch got together.
They grudgingly accepted that we were the best team in the PL during that period as I accepted that we didn’t get a trophy for it for one reason or another!

Last night Ange got us over the line and nobody can take that away from him and if you check my posts prior to the game I was quietly confident that he would despite some of our league performances earlier

There shouldn’t be any cunt offs on here today but that’s TFC for you!!

Ange should definitely remain for the final game which should be a celebration and also the bus parade of the trophy down the High Road

Whether he remains next season is a subject for another day
