Who scored ratings are very bad for defenders. He's called Mr. Reliable because he's white and slow and doesn't really offer anything else. He makes so many mistakes in defense and gets destroyed by any decent winger. If he were from the Ivory Coast his switching off and poor positioning would be called out as low IQ of laziness.

Each additional 5% of whiteness correlates to an additional 5% in reliability. This is well documented.
But on Big Ben, he is more than fine as a deputy as long as Reggie stays fit and we don't have to rely on him for long spells against the big teams. Fine against lesser to middling opposition.
Wouldn't be worth the cost it would take to upgrade when we have more pressing concerns in the first XI.

Which is why I'd certainly look at Sessegnon after his loan ends, as he looks a very decent LB back up who might develop from there. And if Reguilon hot foots it to Madrid in summer 2022 (which I doubt) we have at least one LB on the books
