In what way are enic apologists the losers. We were told we were selfish for merely using our season tickets. Do you still want enic out or not?

Of course I still want ENIC out why wouldn’t I?

Nothing has changed, yet. Just hiring Conte is step 1 of likely 5-10 steps they need to take to show they have actually changed.

Losers - hopefully the board whingers and moaners as we finally head into a period of winning things ....

mind you we could do the quadruple and some will still moan .... :ossie:
Rubbish. Most sane people moaning are not aghast at not winning trophies, but simply beaten down due to our meek and unstructured efforts (or lack of) to compete

I may be in the minority but I feel the likes of Davies and Doherty can be unlikely winners out of all this. Davies can maybe carve a role of back up and occasional spot starter at LCB in a back 3 and Doherty could possibly be the same at his preferred LWB. Is it unlikely sure but it couldn’t hurt them since they weren’t favored anyway.
The only true loser in all this seems to be Winksy. I see no hope for him. Possibly Dele as well.

Conte has given up, he will leave at the end of the season. We are a million miles from being a challenger which is what he is used to. We are treading water.
One thing is for sure if he doesnt get a couple of good signings early in the window then i think there is a good chance he'd walk. Also not sure we're treading water 4th, 6th, 7th last 3 seasons. A stinking rich Newcastle, an improved Woolwich, Villa ambitious, Brighton improving. We're a mid table side now.

It’s definitely a test for him, and likely a challenge he isn’t used to. I think that he had teams before that had the mentality but just needed the organization and tactics to make it all work. I think we have, in general, the natural talent in the team to be far better than we are but really, seriously fucked up mentally.

I don’t see how you can change that right away, or especially mid-game.

That said, I think he needs to do what was done in the past but utilize a system that will allow us to add cover for our flaws until we can build back some small semblance of belief again.
There's so much more to fix.

But Conte isn't fixing it with this stupid 343 or counter attacks with slow wingers.

Also I thought the guy had balls? Why was he so afraid to take off Son who was a man down all game?

I hate all this "walking" bullshit. It's a narrative being driven by those that just expect 20 new signings each and every transfer window.

I get a manager getting it wrong, it happens.

I also think right up to the Chelsea games he's done a fantastic job, getting to grips with the squad, literally transforming the fundamentals and clearly having a team showing some repeatable patterns in our play from back to front (not always slick, not always pretty but genuine green shoots were there for all to see). I wasn't expecting us to beat Chelsea, even if they were really struggling prior to playing us but I was expecting us to perform. I was expecting Conte not to get outcoached 3 games on the trot!

I simply can't get my head around why he persists with a system where we've been clearly struggling under, where in every game we play it with not been the best team. Who, when the line-up was announced today, thought great a 3-4-2 we're gonna smash them?

It took him 1 and a half games for him to ditch a particular system when he realised his player's profile weren't going to be able to play the way he wanted! Nah, not at Tottenham, he just sticks with it, over and over and over whilst we all watch the same performance repeat itself.

Today was always going to be a tough game, Wolves are a good side and Large has got them playing better than at any time under Nuno. But I knew with absolute certainty as saw that team announced that we were going to look shit regardless of the result.

Today and against Southampton have been as bad as anything served up under Nuno!

Maybe, he's doing this as a long term thing, and he feels he has to stick with this because of what he has planned for next season or something, but really I doubt that. It's just shite.

And finally, has he helped build the confidence of the team? This is also down to him, we look passive in periods again, individual confidence is low. Players are not sure where they should be, all the patterns of play have evaporated. This is a massive part of management.

He is a wonderful coach, this isn't in any doubt but right now I think he's been consistently outcoached, bottom line test is that our performances haven't improved, they've declined!

I will come back to this but good post.

Great post.

Absolutely spot on mate. Well said

He won’t stand for Lucas’s erratic nonsense - PEH’s finger pointing and chugging should see him gone by Jan. I would sell both, hope we do churn some half decent players whilst we can and reinvest

Surprised how many people think Gil will suffer, our players will likely be asked to actually pass the ball and move rather than be static. I also feel he is better in the centre than on the wing. I think Gil will do well under Conte.
Still don't think Gil will feature much this season either way. He gets shoved off the ball a little too easily right now, but hopefully by next season that will change a bit.

How can someone say Lucas is loser and Bergwijn is winner in this case. Lucas is 5x player that Bergwijn is.

When he came for the first 3-6 months his physicality, hold up play, linking was far better than Lucas. He has declined at a rapid rate and is now a shadow of how he started. If Conte is a good coach he will bring him back to life.

Prediction: Conte is going to punish the squad with a proper, classical Roman decimation.

The squad is going to be randomly split down the middle in two groups of ten. They will draw straws to determine the 3 or 4 that get to sit out.

Then the individual groups of ten will draw straws again. The loser in each group of ten is beaten to death by the other nine. Anyone that refuses to participate is crucified to death on public display outside of the stadium.

Harsh but fair.

You been playing Crusader Kings again I see
