well indeed but one assumes he'll just leave for a free so it's a case of what he's worth for 1 season to the club
If it's e.g. £80m, or 1 season and leaving on a free, then the club probably should take the fee. While he is of course an excellent pro, you'd also expect his motivation to drop a little if he is running down his contract.
