A lot of people are worried "about what people say on the internet". It gets quite intense for those targeted, it is bullying, and may lead to anxiety, depression, loss of motivation, and similar quite undesirable outcomes. "What people say on the internet" is a huge problem for most famous people (and many "normal" as in non-famous as well), a huge societal problem, and a huge problem for our democracy.
More relevant for this discussion: It is a problem for Spurs. Fucking with the heads of our homegrown talents by giving them tons of shit online negatively effects them as individuals, and also has a considerable negative impact on the club.
Sure, maybe the one comment from a nobody on a small, unknown forum in a shady corner of the web, doesn't have an impact in and of itself. But it adds to the total. And the total breaks people.
The thing is, people should fucking think about what they are doing, and football "supporters" in particular should think about what they say. No fotballer in the premier league is even close to being "fucking shit" or "a fraud" or "a rat". Even the least hard working and most talented of them have sacrifised and worked a shitload harder throughout their youth and into adulthood to get to where they are than pretty much anyone of the keyboard bullies.
