He’ll score twice in his first three matches and thus place will melt like fuck about how we “should have been all over that”, “fucking Levy being cheap”, “Joe and his yachts”.

Then he won’t score again for about a year and we’ll realise we dodged a Berahino / Bony / Damiao shaped bullet.

No he'd have had a load of other questions new country will he settle will he adapt styles. Its so much more nuanced than the fifa players make out. Rember William Saliba. Equally highly rated as Fofana.

Sure but there are many reasons to think that Sali a was poorly handled.

Plenty of guys have switched her countries and been fine and considering Fofana would be viewed as a development guy that would be fine.

Rodon has questions himself about coming from a new league.

Saliba is a sad case though and a mix of bad management and bad luck. He has all the talent in the world and I do think if he chose Spurs instead, we'd be speaking about him as highly as people speak of Fofana.

He got loaned back to St Etienne because they wanted him to play games. That's the first bit of bad management. He was good enough to come in and start in that shambles of an Woolwich defence. Then he gets injured which limits his playing time at St Etienne. Then COVID hits which halts the league and game time and then sadly his mother dies.

Here comes the second part of bad management. They were supposed to loan him back to France in the summer, presumably because of his mothers passing and sending him back to France may have helped him a bit more. But they FUCKED that up by leaving it too late.

So they're left with a player who hasn't settled properly due to different circumstances. Who is then LEFT OUT of their Europa League squad, the one competition that seemed to be a shoe-in for him to get minutes in.

Which left him with no loan, no Europa League registration, meaning less and less game time. Hindering his development. And now I think he's been sent out on loan to a shambolic Nice team who have about 1 win in 3 months in the league.

The Tea Lady is now saying that we are are close to signing someone but we will lose a player as well!

Just a reminder that the window closes 11pm Monday Feb 1st. So 12 days to go.
Reminder of who needs to leave before we can buy:

We need to lose a non-HG (eg Sanchez) if Rodon is to be registered for EL.
We need to lose another to add a new non-HG to the EL squad.
We do have 2 HG spaces available for the EL and that increases to 3 if Dele leaves.
We can sign up to 3 new non-HG or HG players eligible to play EPL only if Sanchez, Gazza and Dele leave.

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.

Tottenham held talks with the Serie A club over the Slovakian international in the summer transfer window, but could not bridge a gap of more than £10million between the two side's valuations of the player.

He has been starting every single Serie A match since returning from isolation in October and his value will have only gone up, with two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract. The player also shut down talk of a move during this window.

understands that while the 24-year-old Beijing Guoan defender is a player Spurs have looked at in the past year, they are not expected to move for him in the coming fortnight.

Eder Militao is not believed to be someone Tottenham would move for at this moment.

Incoming new players for the first team are believed to be unlikely this month, unless there is an unexpected big money bid for someone in the squad, particularly a foreign player, and then the expectation would be that a like-for-like signing would be made if possible.

Unless there is an unexpected departure, Mourinho will have to continue to work with what he's got and develop Rodon in the months ahead.
