Well we don’t want to do a LeedsSo are you saying we havent invested as much as we should have in the squad. This is brand new information!!
Same old day in the goat household.....
Let's be fair about it....you'll be doing it anyway...
"Vlahovic scored 21 goals in Serie A last season with Spurs to seal the transfer."Daily Express though...they're on the same level as Hercules...
Yeah, but Conte is a fan of strikers staying in and around the box...as you do...Actually watching that video of his goals last season, most of them are penalties and 6-yard-box tap-ins, with the very vast majority of the goals (even from further out) being the result of someone else supplying him. I'm not necessarily saying that doesn't make him a great striker etc - Lineker made a great career of little more than finishing in some people's opinion - but does it suggest that he is all about finishing and very little else, and if so, is that ok for us?
If you compare to Kane, over the years there have been loads of goals where he has got a yard on the man in front of him before smacking one in the corner - I don't see any of those goals in that Vlahovic video, he never has to beat a man... But perhaps if you're always in the right place at the right time, you don't need to beat a man (or have effectively already done so off the ball by finding the space)... ??? :/
True... and as I say, I'm not necessarily saying it's a bad thing - just that it makes me a little nervous if we spend so much on a player that appears to have such a narrow skillset. But perhaps it's exactly what we need - if we get him, then let's hope so!Yeah, but Conte is a fan of strikers staying in and around the box...as you do...
I wouldn't be as high on us signing Vlahovic if Conte wasn't our coach, he's a player who's a period of top coaching away from being an top player imo. Watch his first half last night playing as the lone striker vs Portugal, his link play was excellent throughout the half, hits the post with a half-chance, repeatedly making strong runs across the 6yd box begging to be picked out, very strong press.Actually watching that video of his goals last season, most of them are penalties and 6-yard-box tap-ins, with the very vast majority of the goals (even from further out) being the result of someone else supplying him. My issue is that I just can't visualize how a Kane/Vlahovic front two would work, or Kane/Son/Vlahovic in a front three. If Kane was to be sold I'd certainly have Vlahovic as a replacement over Isak, J.David etc (though these are good players). I don't see how spending 60m plus on Vlahovic is a priority if Kane is staying put and we have weakness in nearly every other position on the field.

This is why I rate de Ketelaere higher. He can make a goal for himself more than Vlahovic.Actually watching that video of his goals last season, most of them are penalties and 6-yard-box tap-ins, with the very vast majority of the goals (even from further out) being the result of someone else supplying him. Is he a CF though? Looks more like a CAM to me... Don't get me wrong, he looks like he has everything and more for that position, but I couldn't see him playing up front. This is why I rate de Ketelaere higher. He can make a goal for himself more than Vlahovic.
Definitely a striker. Is he a CF though? Looks more like a CAM to me... Don't get me wrong, he looks like he has everything and more for that position, but I couldn't see him playing up front.
