I don't think Conte will have his mind set on Italian players in the same way media has linked us since Paratici's arrival. Loved watching Zaniolo play before consecutive ACL injuries, but he's only really been impressive in flashes this season. G/A numbers very poor. Not creating chances with any regularity. I do expect to see a big uptick in his performance level in the second half of this season and going forward. VVD, Reus, Barnes, Falcao .. takes a lot of these guys a while to get back to their physical level, Zaniolo would be a very risky move, especially considering our recent flops in the market. If Conte likes him I'd have no complaint, lots of tools to be an excellent player if his legs stay intact.

Skipp, Reguilon, Son, Davies (as LCB) , Dier and Lloris all looked pretty decent against Brentford, with Hojbjerg half a step behind them and Kane whilst unathletic putting in some great passes from CM, and Winks short cameo suggested that he can look very capable.

Some of the others had their moments as well such as Sanchez with a great forward pass leading to Sons goal.

Point is nobody looked that bad in the Brentford match, Conte's week in training after the Burnley match cancellation seeming to make the whole team better drilled and organised which benefitted the whole team. A little more time with Conte and I think we can be a match for or have the beating of all pl teams except perhaps the top 3.

My conclusion is that the team as a whole is ok - but what we have are mainly players who as a squad are 'a good average for PL', and what we need to do is to upgrade a few of these players by buying ( and/or developing some of the academy youngsters) into top class players - and if we could get 4 or 5 players like that over the next couple of transfer windows, that would be enough to improve the squad to be better than say ManU (whose full backs AWB and Shaw don't look great nor Maguire's turning circle and our DM's probably better than theirs etc).

Point is that whilst our squad might not be as good as ManCity, Chelsea, Liverpool atm , no reason why we cannot make it the 4th best PL squad for next season (starting in January with one or two upgrades) and build up from there to overtake Liverpool for example.

Linked with Adama Traore again, he would give us great options still. Conte rumoured to be a fan, pinch of salt as usual from the Athletic, but still fits an ENIC signing having not signed a new contract and new rumours that they are lowering the price.

(For the disagreers I would still swap him for Bergwijn in a millisecond)

God knows who we bring in but if we can get rid of as many of Doherty, Sanchez , Winks, Alli and Ndombele as possible then we're heading in the right direction. Can probably add Rodon as well, no idea why but 4 managers haven't really given him a go now and there must be a reason, so pointless him being here.

£30m + Winks?

Agree with our history it would be an Uber gamble.

100m was never going to buy Vlahovic and Martinez.

75m for Kane would have been a joke. He'd have 15 goals for City by now and everyone would be calling Levy a cunt and rightly so.
That's debatable, we don't know what we'd have got them for then. But what we do know, is Kane isn't worth anywhere near as much now and they're both gonna cost way more.

Kane being shit because he wants to leave is very predictable.
2 upcoming players values increasing after starting their seasons well is very predictable.

Levy made the wrong decision and it's not even a debate. Hopefully what has followed might wake people up a little bit

Swedish press are now running with the Kulusevski out of Juve rumours. It is us and the goons that are the main destinations apparently. Juve want to get back as much as possible on what they paid for him, and Kulusevski wants to move to a club that will allow him to play as a 9.

We need depth in that position and Paratici knows Kulusevski so I would not be too surprised if this actually happens.

Guy's never scored a goal as a #9 and only has 8 in 65 for Juve....... What makes him think he's a CF?

He’s a bit shit though?

And a proper ginger too. Like medieval village simpleton ginger.

He's quite good in that position to be honest. He plays as part of the striker duo in Sweden's 4-4-2 and is a general menace in a free role operating off of Isak. He roams out wide, drops down to play as a 10 etc. He could quite easily develop into a Lautaro Martinez style smaller 9.

1 goal in 20 for you guys from what I saw.....

I don't see that that's what we need from a back-up ST.... We need someone that knows where the net is; can slot straight in and bag a few on rotation whilst keeping Kane on his toes.

I rate Kulusevski higher than Isak. Especially when it comes to value for money.
Still not sure about him as a 9 though.
As for wingers we should go after Doku.
A great squad player for us could be De Ketelaere.
