From that article: "Relevent founded the International Champions Cup (ICC) five years ago, a summer tournament of “friendly” matches played in countries including the US and China. This year’s event featured top-tier European clubs, including England’s Manchester United and Manchester City, Germany’s Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and Italy’s Juventus and AC Milan."

No mention of the winners.

Wasn't there talk about the PL playing a game abroad each season some time ago? That plan may well resurface.

Yep game 39 , can't see how it could work tho , imagine game 39 gets you relagated because it's against City and your rival stay up cos their game 39 was Burnley.

I wouldn't think the MLS would be too chuffed at the big european teams going over to play there. Would hurt their "brand" I would imagine.

Gotta remember there is a population of 300million in the US for 20 odd teams , 3 or 4 high profile meaningful European games could really showcase top level football to the US market as long as it didn't clash with MLS to badly I think it would do football in America some good , there would still be 300 or 400 MLS match days available throughout the country for the rest of the season . I'd just rather they developed it themselves but money talks and I'm surprised it's taken this long tbh.

The MLS also runs spring - fall instead of the typical league schedule that most European leagues use. So if you schedule a few of the games for the winter in between the MLS season it should be a minimal headache for all involved

That is a very good point.

Yet again fucking money and branding ruining the game. Bollocks to the supporters as always. If this shit starts happening over here I swear I might just have to start following a lower league team as it's getting ridiculous

On the subject of La Liga, I'm going to Barcelona in October and wondered if anybody here knew the best way to get a ticket to see them? I know a few people on this forum live in Spain. I'm going to be there on the 21 October so thought I'd try and go to Barcelona vs Sevilla.

It's a matter of time until the the English decide of their own volition to start ruining the PL as well , imagine an El classico being played in Miami , it's a fucking insult to the bread and butter fans who go every week.
Fixed.

Copa del Rey

Literally nobody cares about the copa del rey.
But the league has been interesting. Getafe's bubble hasn't burst. Betis are finally playing well and sergio canales has finally realized his potential. The relegation fight is as usual more interesting than the top 4: 4 points separate 11th from 18th. I really hope Rayo Vallecano stay up. Proper club, that.
