Linfield to meet Celtic at Belfast on July 12th.
Somewhere out there someone in the RUC is crying
O dear got beat of the 4th best part time team in Luxembourg! They've spent a think 8million so far improving their team....well I think improving it?Rangers did well in Europe then.....
Hands down bet you he goes to a PL side in two years for +£50m!! They have also made some other potentially astute signings that you can also put into that category. Why PL clubs can't scout like this (plus at least 15 other sides around Europe) is beyond me.
In fairness, their reputation will now precede them.
If I was a young player with a lot of potential, I'd see Monaco as the perfect place to get a lot of game time and move to a mega club if I actually deliver on the pitch. Oh, and have a chance at winning the French title while I was at it.
I think our clear reluctance to sell our best players goes slightly against that though.I'd like to think we were just as viable for such players... Oh for a settled scouting situ.

It's a bit of a Catch 22: if we want to shed the 'stepping stone' label then we'll also be less attractive a destination than Monaco to a young player who wants to flip to a huge team quickly.

So well that bookies have paid out on Celtic winning the Scottish League already.
