Not sure why I put that in this thread, should have been in the other teams transfer thread.

Even more so, from seeing him last season, I'd say Everton was just about above his level. Will get a few goals for them, but if they expect him to be Lukaku's replacement, they are mistaken.

Just watching Chinese super league VIlla Boas team vRfgz

What a load of shit.
Oscar and hulk on VB team.
Hulk just scored an equaliser off side pass to Oscar about two yard.
The commentator cannot fathom why the other team are protesting to the linesman.
He just watched the replay 3 times and thinks it can only be for a foul.
Oh god he's just noticed after 10 mins.
Then feelings are running high and a mass brawl erupts as Oscar deliberately kicks the ball at one of the RFGZ players.
2 players off one yellow and Oscar escapes.
Officials and players are hopeless.
It's like what you see on hackney marshes

Watched some MLS last night, NYC vs Seattle Sounders. What da Fuk is up with playing football in Yankee Stadium does that mean there was a whole stand without any fans in it! Couldn't tell due to the camera angle.

Hands down bet you he goes to a PL side in two years for +£50m!! They have also made some other potentially astute signings that you can also put into that category. Why PL clubs can't scout like this (plus at least 15 other sides around Europe) is beyond me.

In fairness, their reputation will now precede them.

If I was a young player with a lot of potential, I'd see Monaco as the perfect place to get a lot of game time and move to a mega club if I actually deliver on the pitch. Oh, and have a chance at winning the French title while I was at it.

I'd like to think we were just as viable for such players... Oh for a settled scouting situ.

I think our clear reluctance to sell our best players goes slightly against that though.

Could do.... Maybe they just appear happy? Or maybe our broader rep is still that of a selling club (with Bale & Modrich at the forefront of a lot of ambitious player's minds.)? ...Perception is 'everything' some might say.

It's a bit of a Catch 22: if we want to shed the 'stepping stone' label then we'll also be less attractive a destination than Monaco to a young player who wants to flip to a huge team quickly.

Monaco only have so much squad space and still have a sense of positional balance to retain come game day...

We need to find a way to tap into similar such profiled prospects, because despite our superb recent progress on the pitch, a few extra TV£s apportioned to whatever transfer kitty we wouldn't have otherwise had and CL status we still can't afford to buy the finished article for the level the club is currently playing at (and even then that doesn't really fit Poch's philosophy)...

We have an Alchemist in Pochetino, we need to tap into the best possible raw materials for him to work with; be it via the our academys or succesful rough diamond scouting.

Paying bigger fees for similar (if not higher!) level risks for 'not as hot' prospects (Barkley, Sissoko.... Insane inter EPL prices, English premium etc.) is a ridiculous situation that we surely can't operate in for a sustain period...

Once we've moved into the new gaff, hopefully we'll have a little more time to focus on refining our scouting/recruitment ops. Fingers crossed there'll be a bit more synergy/clarity achieved by then and we can fine-tune/tweak accordingly from there....

A mate of mine in Glasgow was celebrating celtics historic league win last season which I did find funny .

It's like Usain Bolt entering an amputee 100m race.
