In the 1978–79 season, a new badge appeared that was similar to that of the previous season, except now the words “LEEDS UNITED AFC” enclosed a stylised peacock (a reference to the club’s nickname, “The Peacocks”) rather than the yellow smiley.
 
Nah. Smellhurst is single tier on the changing room side
It used to be two tiers until the start of the 80's. The bottom section had a standing enclosure.
We had thousands there for our match in '79. The whole end opposite their end, plenty of Spurs in their end also.... and almost half of the Arthur Waite standing enclosure. Not to mention loads in the seats. Still recollect our train being told to not stop at New Cross Gate afterwards, as there were supposed to be Millwall waiting for us.
