Which is bollocks.
Liverpool destabilise a player, playing ok, by tapping him up, say sorry. We are dropping any interest. Said player doesn’t perform again as he wanted the move. Then they sign at the next opportunity.
Everton destabilise a manager, doing ok, by repeatedly tapping him up. He wants the move.
Results dip, he’s sacked and signed at the next opportunity.

What’s the point in having tapping up rules.
If a club approaches illegally then said club should be banned from signing anyone for the next summer window.
