When i watch winks i can see he can add so much to his game. Final third, finishing, free kick specialist taking. He shows flashes of iniesta when he gets out of midfield traffic but he really needs to add more to his game otherwise could go in summer.

Glad to see the forum in good spirits.

Great result, and well pleased. However, I'd just like to stick up for Mr Doherty, who has his faults, but showed a lot of energy and determination tonight, and I think it's harsh to blame him too much for the Palace goal. Maybe I missed it, but has anyone mentioned Winks giving away a ridiculous free kick, in a dangerous area, that started off the whole passage of play leading to their goal? Very happy with the way we put The Eagles to the sword.

Well we allowed 27 crosses versus Man City at home and conceded none, were they all the wrong height? - your theory is very obviously flawed.

Every corner is a free cross - strange but every corner doesn't lead to a goal so are they all the wrong height? - again your theory is very obviously flawed.

CB's can of course challenge for every single cross if they are in the right place and attacking the ball ... when you only have one attacking player to mark not getting off the ground to defend a cross 100% that's poor defending by the CB's, sure if no crosses ever happened then no blame would ever fall on the CB's but then if your auntie had balls she'd be your uncle .... that's not happening in the real world.

Neither Toby, the senior CB, or Sanchez defended Benteke properly for that goal - of course they share the blame with Bale for switching off, and Doherty being slow to close down - but at the end of the day CB's should be marking the loan CF's that's their job.
Are you sure?

What a match!!! Important win.

Sometimes in life bad things occur to us only to turn out good in the long run.

Although the first half ended with a let down, the boys controlled the game even more in the second half (The best of the season) Well composed and clinical when needed.

Bale is totally offering something different on the flank than Locus or Lamela. But Lucas in the middle was a beauty (the way he carries the ball forward alongside his aggressive tackles and hard pressing) despite his mishaps. I felt bad for him because I knew he’d get slaughtered for that mishap and folks would disregard his earlier contributions in the game.

Top 4 is a matter of time. But it’s clear Jose is competing with mediocre defenders at the back and Benteke goal said it all.
