Player Rodrigo Bentancur

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Bentancur, Skipp and Tielemans or Maddison (as much of a cunt he is) would do nicely for next season, in my opinion.

I don’t love Skipp and Bentancur together especially if we are going for more than just 4th but I think that is a solid MF that makes us more competitive for 4th.

I just think that a) He's not up to speed (hardly anyone is yet) with Conte's system b) He's getting used to the speed to the Legaue. Both I think are more than expected given he's not long been with us.
hes made for premier league with his size, aggression and speed in the middle of the pitch imo. hes actually deceivingly quick. seems to breeze past players easily.

we all want that silky smooth playmaker like modric, but if you wanted another midfielder if you cant have that, it would be someone whos big, aggressive and quick.

It's a start. In a perfect world Skipp wouldn't be considered a first-teamer. But he has improved pretty drastically while starting games this season and there's no reason he couldn't continue that. He needs to add goals to his game next. He doesn't have to be another Lampard or Gerrard. But he shouldn't be afraid to have pops from 25 yards out every now and again.

That highlight reel is incomplete, seeing stuff watching the game again now that isn't on there.

He's neat and tidy, tenacious and disciplined. His biggest plus over the Winks of this world is his composure, he's not the type to fluster under pressure. I don't see a pinpoint, pick a forward out and drop it on a sixpence over 50 yards pass in him yet, something Winks does occasionally have in his locker, but he's composed and that settles the team down. Will be interested to see if he can do it against United, Everton were a rollover tonight, we didn't really need to play that well.

Yeah, I don't think he's anything special. He's just what Winks SHOULD be. A competent CM who can get about the pitch, land tackles, win a few duels, escape pressure, and ocassionally find a good pass. He does none of these things at a prodigious rate but enough to be a good addition to a side chasing top 4.

Hopefully, he'll be the Hojbjerg to a better CM down the road.

He's not afraid to have a pop, but he's clearly got no talent for it. Hopefully it's something he can learn.

I have seen a fair few occasions though where he was in a great position to shoot but decided to play it safe. I think he has enough ability to take a few more risks in his game, while still remaining an efficient player. Admittedly at the start of the season I only ever saw him as a spoiler really. Someone that can win the ball and then give it to someone who can do more with it. But he's already shown he is much more than that, and can and will get better.

Breath of fresh air

Really enjoy watching him

Works hard front to back

Good athlete

Nice technical ability

Reads the game well

Covers ground. Helps out the back line and joins attack

He definitely plays it safe. His Norwich loan was the same, started out very safe then started to show off his range of passing.

I think he'll do the same here. Still, his shooting is very Winks-esque.

thing that does concern me is when the oppisition have the ball on around half way line and we are in defensive block close to our 18yd box he breaks and chase's towards the ball (maybe 30yds away towards halfway line) means we are now out of shape in defensive block

That's exactly what he did for the winner against City. First-time ball out to Kulu, who got behind City defence then crossed to pick out Kane (did it literally 2mins before that too, in an almost identical move).

Conte ball is a highly orchestrated sequence of positional transitions interspersed with controlled periods without the ball, there's little room for improvisation, so if passes such as these are delivered then that's down to the work on the training pitch. Getting the runners to target the space when they feel it's the right time to attempt it. So, we'll only see such things if that's his role in the build-up.

Glad to see him coming back after a short injury break - definitely look better with him in our side.

Looking forward to introducing him to Mr Skipp - missing since end January - think the two together could be very important for us next season.

Bentancur's been a very good purchase from Juventus - as has Kulusevski. Wonder if we are looking at any of their unwanted players who might be of similar quality
if they want to give us also dybala..for free...

Liked everything ive seen from RB so far, confidence being the most important thing about him at the moment. A couple of dodgy passes here and there but id rather he tried something than just play it sideways all the time. Hes a big lad as well which helps.
