His main problems are, that in Italy defenders tend to back rather than push, which suits him quite well. All he needs to learn in England is to beat the first forechecking fullback with his first touches. Yet 2 seasons in, he barely every troes it.Our system does not fit Lamela or Soldado, they are not physical players. Lamela played better in a 4-3-3 at roma, he was surrounded by a stronger midfield. I think he is the type of player who would be connecting passes around the box and creating throughballs rather than driblling and trying to beat players. If we want to play pacy direct football rather than pass i suggest he be sold.
