The story of our high-flying Poch team from several years ago is partly a story of guys who hung around too long, to the point where their value on the market went from reasonably high to something much lower. I see Dier in this comment too. Perfect example of a player who says the right thing in front of the camera, then sulks and plays like shit when he doesn't get his own way.
He was our worst player last night. If you watched him you would see the personification of everything that's wrong with our squad...panicky and unable to do the basics in the face of a little bit of adversity.

Davinson was so much better than him, he made some crucial blocks and tackles when the score line was still in our favour. Dier only seemed to realise this was a football match when we were losing.
The problem with Sanchez is he's still young and is clearly affected by what goes on around him.
He was good yesterday but as soon as Dier started falling apart, that fed into Sanchez. He then started to just hoof balls aimlessly to no-one instead of taking his time and staying calm.
He needs to work on that but having Dier one side and no RB the other is gonna affect him negatively when games go as it did last night.

Eric Dier is a player playing at least a level above what his abilities as a football player merit.
The Norwich incident should have seen his contract terminated no matter how much people may sympathise with him against fan abuse .
Dier brought the club into disrepute that night.

We really need to take advantage of this while we can and hope that his NT selection will fool some team into thinking he is good.
WH seems like a team that would be fooled by something like that. It would be nice to not only get rid of Dier but then get to face him every time we play them as well.
