Sissoko was crucial in our Champions League run that year.

Dele was great in that 2nd game v Ajax.

Trippier was carried throughout that year, he was a much more glaring weak link than even Winks.

yea fair enough on sissoko, he was important because he gave us a bit of muscle in midfield where we would have meek little winks otherwise.

i suppose you think dele assisted lucas twice hahaha even for the winner, he still has it all to do. lets be honest we scored 3 goals and they was all down to lucas pretty much alone. rest of the team wasn't special at all that night. lucas had a one in a lifetime game.

no ones a more glaring weak link then winks.

Bore off.... Winks was one of very few that turned up in the final and was generally having a decent season. It's not until Poch started expecting him to anchor our entire midfield that things started to come unravelled for Winks).

Burying the best part of Dele's time here because of what he later became is bogus and fickle too.
 
GLC isn't a bad player. He just never fit in with us and the PL.

He will go down in a long list of players that can be classified as a good players that just never cut it in the PL. No shame in it.

He's been brought up in a very different style and speed of play.

A lot of our fans look at the last couple of seasons when all of the team went to shit under the last year of Poch, Jose and Nuno and then target their least liked players and call them shitz when the truth is they all played shit during that period of anti coaching.

Amazing how we get a decent manager in and Dier, Davis etc start playing well again.

A lot of our fans just love to hate and piss on the club, sad really.

Don't think Winks will survive though, pity because he did have something but not being loaned out early, being played out of position and then the injury pretty much damned him.

He's not a pure CAM. He's played countless games for Argentina in a a 3 man midfield as the left mid, hovering just behind the winger in attack and as a box to box CM when off the ball, pressing and tackling all over the pitch.

He also sometimes played central and sometimes as a right mid.
