Villareal have accumulated approx €60m so far due to their CL exploits so they can and probably will put some dough up in the Summer for him.
Thanks. I hope they win the whole thing and get CL again next season. GLC's price goes up and more money for the firm.

Compare these massive numbers with the Ropey and Conference league and it all becomes clear why they're a drain on resources.

Gold:
Lo Celso enjoyed more Champions League joy as he played the full match as Villarreal stunned Bayern Munich in midweek with a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena to take their place in the semi-finals.

Sky Sports handed the Argentinean an eight in their player ratings for his performance against the German giants. Lo Celso was involved in Villarreal's crucial goal on the night, rushing up the pitch and sliding a ball through to Gerard Moreno. He squared it for Samuel Chukwueze, who lifted his finish over Manuel Neuer to stun the hosts.

Lo Celso, who had been named man of the match in the first leg, then got just 29 minutes to his name in Saturday's 2-1 La Liga win at Getafe as Villarreal boss Unai Emery continues to start him in the Champions League and rest him from the starting line-up in the league in recent weeks.

Lo Celso has now made 14 appearances for Emery's team since his deadline day switch from Tottenham.

CL also comes with other bonuses, Sponsorship deals have CL progress/win clauses. CL tickets are more expensive, more shirts are likely to be sold.

Higher profile clubs that regularly make CL can often secure players for less than those clubs which struggle to make it every season. E.g. Juve getting Locatelli for a much smaller fee than Arse were willing to pay.

He's not a pure CAM. He's played countless games for Argentina in a a 3 man midfield as the left mid, hovering just behind the winger in attack and as a box to box CM when off the ball, pressing and tackling all over the pitch.

He also sometimes played central and sometimes as a right mid.

Maybe he can get away with being a "box to box" CM in international play- Prem is a different beast and he's too small to play CM there. In a 3 man midfield sometimes its two CAMs and a pivot (CDM) anyways...

Not that I don't wish him well. Hope the good play continues (to a payday for us).

Size and physicality are DEFINITELY not the reasons he didn't work out in the PL.
