Did I hear a few Hugo songs last night?

'He drinks what he wants' was one

Others?
"He drives when he wants" I heard too.

Attempting to put a neutral hat on here, especially difficult after last night. But he is so supremely valuable to his employers and fans that almost whatever the verdict he will continue playing for us as captain.

Not right if he is found to be four times over, but that's the way it is.

At some points it sounded like "he's broken the law" and "he's been on the piss"
Ah yeah forgot about that one - it sounded like "he's still on the piss" to me, which makes sense as the Utd players felt the need to crowd round him during every corner in the first half.

Ah well, weathered it, 3-0 how d'ya like those eggs :kaneear:

It may suit Lloris to not be the over-praised World Cup winner and perfect person. I mean that genuinely. He has the kind of personality that could thrive better and work harder under the radar. Humbled down a bit isn't the worst place to be as long as it is possible to gradually build back up again.

Saint David Beckham is appealing a speeding ticket 58mph in a 40mph limit area.
There are lawyers specialising in getting RICH people off driving convictions...

Yeah they usually try and find loop holes though, like camera not calibrated, no speed camera sign etc. I’m sure there are lawyers who would try and pick holes if he is only slightly over but if he is way over fuck all a lawyer can do except try and go down the lines of *stress* or *alcohal dependancy* neither I’m sure Hugo would wish to persue.

Or I won the World Cup a few weeks ago?

Of course it would be bad to reward him with a new contract so close to the drink driving debacle, but when is he getting one?

For all the bustle about tying our important players to contracts instead of signing new ones, only Kane has actually done so. Personally, I disagree with raising Kane's wage immediately to 200k, because a few of the others could legitimately argue that they are as important - Lloris & Eriksen. Our yearly renewal of past years' was a pretty good model.

Anyway, hoping to see Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Lloris, Eriksen and Alli sign new contracts. Heck, if and it is a big if, that the whole wage structure was increased this summer ("ITK" said around the Poch/Kane contract time), then Trippier, Davies, Rose, Wanyama and Dier should also sign new ones - basically the whole squad.

Sissoko should just leave though. Hard to shift him as it is.
