We can try and back him. But he'll be complaining about buying eggs in Aldi while everyone else is in Waitrose or some other bollocks. He's just a bad fit for us IMO.I don't know mate I agree covid has hit nearly everyone but you don't hire him and don't back him.

No, Moyes inherited a squad that finished 10th and that is around where they are likely to finish this season again.Moyes inherited a squad that just escaped relegation. Jose inherited a perennial top 4 squad that also had just reached the CL final!!!
West ham 19/20 finished 16th 5 points above relegation 20 points behind spursNo, Moyes inherited a squad that finished 10th and that is around where they are likely to finish this season again.
Cant understand why some people feel the need to stretch the truth.
I think you're confusing Burnley with West ham and frankly I am not surprised. No, Moyes inherited a squad that finished 10th and that is around where they are likely to finish this season again.

I dont understand the logic of how buying just any player automatically improves a squad. So if next summer, we buy a championship midfielder that is no better than Winks, would it also qualify as strengthening the squad?Yes but we knew why and spoke about this many times. We lacked a DM (the most critical problem) we lacked full back depth, we lack cover for Kane, and we could do with another CB and AM.
We bought all of these, this was the backing most people wanted Poch to have 1-2 seasons ago. We fixed the depth issue that was running us into the ground.
It was the best transfer window in Levy’s tenure. Most people thought we had a squad at least United/Chelsea strong and a bit below Liverpool/City. We only moaned we didn’t get Skrinar.
Now it’s like that brilliant window never happened, all because Jose doesn’t have a clue how to use attacking players and puts all the pressure on our weakest area our CB’s. This is a classic Ramos>Redknapp situation. A manager who has a squad not suited to his tactics but would suit an attacking manager.
and who was the manager?West ham 19/20 finished 16th 5 points above relegation 20 points behind spurs
Only person streching the truth is you.
It’s absolutely incredible. How can people be so miserable they can’t enjoy their team playing well? Disgraceful really.Judging by the silence I would imagine there are a couple of super fans who are gutted we won.
Please note you lied about where West ham finnished to bolster your point. Tottenham should not be any where near West ham never mind behind stop stretching the truth.and who was the manager?

May be by using rose tinted glasses, but I really dont see how our squad is objectively comparable to United or Chelsea. Not just the starting XI, but the depth as well.
The last window was good cos we hit more than miss given that we were bargain bin shopping. PEH and reguilon were good value, but everyone else (Hart, Doherty, Rodon, and Bale) were not starter players and Vinicius is just a backup for lower level opposition.
Those other clubs have spent significantly more money to assemble their squads and bargain bin shopping is not going to make up the difference (cos they also keep improving)
If the high priority needs of a top quality CB, quality playmaker and a starter RB+GK are addressed this summer, and with the expected introduction of Skipp and Sessegnon, the gap with those top 4 squads should be narrower (depending on who those clubs also add). Even then we would still be lacking in depth in some positions and do with upgrading others.
Answer the simple question and we will know who lied or was tretching the truth. Please note you lied about where West ham finnished to bolster your point. Tottenham should not be any where near West ham never mind behind stop stretching the truth.
Moyes replaced pelegrani in December 2019. Whats your point why did you make up a fact about where West ham finnished last season. Tottenham finished 20 points ahead of West ham last season. On every metric squad, youth set up, facilities, history , fan base and purchasing power Tottenham are superior yet we go into Sunday six points behind and could possible be 9 points behind. Tottenham should not be any where near West ham. Why did you inflate West ham position?and who was the manager?
(go on, stretch for it)
I would question the judgement of anyone that felt these were the type of players that would improve our squad.Regulion, PEH, Vinnie, Doherty, Bale, Rodon where all very decent signings and seen as such at the time in very needed positions. A top draw CB yes is needed but we got most of what we wanted.

Doherty is not as good as Aurier on a regular day. The issue with Aurier is the regularity of his bone headed play.
Vinne couldnt cut it Napoli and Monaco. He is not going to become a PL quality striker overnight. His best use case is like tonight, againstlower level oppositions.
Bale has spent more of his time playing golf than playing football at Madrid. Anyone thinking he would roll back the clock muts also believe in the existence of time machines. The best we could have gotten was a super sub that wasnt afraid of the moment. But even that seems too much to ask for.
Rodon has only one season of regular football in the championship. He should not be expected to come in and help us vie to top 4. He is simply a long term project that hopefully yields value down the line.
Since Dembele left, that playmaker role is yet to be filled and its as big of a need (if not bigger) than the CB. Also with each delay in upgrading the squad, more players will decline with age (e.g. lloris) and create new gaps that need to be filled. The squad is not static neither are other clubs twiddling their thumbs.

Both Mourinho and Moyes took over midway through the 2019/20, so same measure should and can be easily applied.
Since Moyes 'inherited' a squad that finished 16th last season, by the same measure Mourinho 'inherited' a squad that finished 6th and not the perennial top 4 you 'stretched for'.
If you want to go by the last full season when we finished 4th, then West Ham finished 10th
Mixing and matching like you did is simply stretching the truth.
